LPC2012 - Saturn's finest

Recommended Posts

Over christmas I got bought an almost entire army. This has now tied in nicely with the start of the LPC so my pledge is to complete 5 palladins, 5 strike squad members and a dreadknight. Although I am seriously thinking of including my stormraven into this as well! So without further ado here's my rather boring progress so far (it will get more interesting soon!)

I've also settled on how I'm going to base these-

And this is my blu-tacked progress putting them together

Cheers for the encouragement so far everyone, much appreciated.

I've made a bit more progress over the past couple of days, getting the strike squad and the dreadknight primed. Can't decide what I want to start painting first. Maybe the hammer dude?

So after a couple of weeks of square-basing I got round to doing some work on my pledge. The result was this chap. My usual technique is to drybrush highlights quickly but I decided to push the boat out with this one and actually paint them on! Works already begun on the 2nd member of the squad.

Thanks mate!

The metallics are a basecoat of Boltgun Metal then an all over wash of Badab Black. After that it's a light drybrush with Chainmail. Next it's an Asurmen Blue wash in all the recesses and finally a fine edge highlight of mithril silver.

It's the first time I've ever done anything more complicated than basecoat>wash>drybrush highlight!

Bravo!! Congrats on the first squad.

they look really well done and cohesive,i especially like the exhaust vents in color(gives me an idea when i get round to my army :) )

i will say this...they look cool but never equip the falchions :) unless your going for cool ^_^ then no probs.

keep up the good work!!

cheers mithril

@Doghouse - Thanks a lot dude, glad you like the red, really wasn't too sure what to do with it!

@Mithrilforge - That's awesome that you liked the painting the backpacks differently. I've not really looked into actually playing with them yet. I made my list based on whhat looked cool and what gave the biggest variety in equipment and wargear.
