Erasmus of Baal
As discussed in my DIY Chapter's IA (which could still use C&C), I have a character born of the Warp but influenced heavily by Space Marines, specifically Blood Angels. Easy stuff to kitbash (or similar) until it comes up that this character is FEMALE. I want to use her in games, so she has to be WYSIWYG (or very close) to someone really special and powerful - I'm undecided at present between Mephiston and the Sanguinor. I have great weapons for either hand, stuff that can be held in the Sanguinor's off hand, and even spare plasma pistols in case I choose Mephiston. Thing is, I still need a model to base her on. My current thoughts are to use either GW's Dark Eldar Scourges (specifically one pair of feathered wings, a pistol arm, a weapon arm, a female body, and feet with boots but no blades) or Privateer Press' Lylyth, Herald of Everblight variant model (which is close to scale and comes with arms detached for easy weapon-swapping) for her. My biggest concern with the Scourges is finding a good head - I'm not sure that those head would work well for her, but I'm hesitant to work with the metal Lylyth figure. Anyone want to recommend which one I should use, or any other ideas that you may have? EDIT: After considering the SoB range on reckoning34's recommendation, I think that this Seraphim model, after hand/weapon swaps, a jump pack switch, and perhaps some minor iconography changes, would probably do pretty well. Olis
Hmm. Perhaps some bits from Daemonettes? I don't know. I would prefer the Lylyth model over the Scourges, though. The Scourges seem far too Eldar-like for my liking. Erasmus of Baal
I considered the Daemonettes, but my main issue there ends up being that they are too evil-looking. I don't want her to look completely out-of-place in my Chapter. Also, I was worried that people wouldn't be happy with calling that stuff "artificer armor." :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244802-female-character-modeling/#findComment-2959999 Share on other sites
reckoning
What about something from the SoB range. Maybe even St. Celestine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244802-female-character-modeling/#findComment-2960318 Share on other sites
Erasmus of Baal
St. Celestine would probably be good except: -I hate her face. That would need replacing. -Crazy amounts of detail are fun to look at, but it'll be a long time before I can paint them well. I'd rather not, but still willing if this proves the best option. -Because of theis Warp-entity's nature, she would be way more likely to have icons of the Blood Angels than the Ecclesiarchy. Even if this is a minor point, I don't want to work with metal. -Cost. I'm on a pretty limited budget right now, and we're talking about jumping from $5-$12 of model (either after splitting the cost of Scourges with a Dark Eldar player or the Lylyth model) to $20 of model that I don't particularly like. In all honesty, I wish I could just grab her, but I'm really against St. Celestine's model. The SoB range is a wonderful thought, though; it hadn't crossed my mind because I was considering this while at my LGS which doesn't usually carry SoB models. I'll take a look at those, even though they are all metal. Thanks! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244802-female-character-modeling/#findComment-2960330 Share on other sites

cathar the great
You could check out the Anima Tactics miniatures, they have a lot of female minis at varying sizes that could work in 40k with some modifications. Erasmus of Baal
That's actually another one of my issues: I'm not so good with the sculpting. You're right, though, it wouldn't be much on this guy. With the shield separate, that gigantic symbol of Slaanesh wouldn't be an issue, but I don't know how much stuff I'd have to drill off of that metal model to make him completely Slaanesh-free. Good thought, though; I'll see if I can find one at my LGS to look at. Inquisitor Fox
If you do use that particular Seraphim, the right hand pistol is actually merged slightly into the shoulder plate, making removing it a little tricky (I did this for one of my twin Inferno Pistol Seraphim). Doable, but requires care :) Also, I always forget about Reaper then I go and find a mini that'd be fun for an Inquisitor retinue... darnit... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244802-female-character-modeling/#findComment-2964749 Share on other sites
