DornsApothecary Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Having been trawling through the boards for a number of months, looking at other peoples work and trying to pick up a few things from tutorials, I finally decided to get a few models for Christmas and have made a start putting them together. Currently under way are a combat squad, scouts with sniper rifles and a Commander. This is my Commander so far who is still very much a work in progress but thought i'd take on board a few bits of advice from more seasoned hobbyists. DornsApothecary Posted January 7, 2012 Author Share Posted January 7, 2012 A couple small touch ups, addition of writing on the purity seals, highlight added to the lens, etc. Not quite sure about the eye...?! Couple small marks across the abdomen which need to be cleaned up. Anyway, I really like the shade of green you have used on the captain, not too keen on the red myself but it fits quite nicely. Any more stuff coming? TennisBall Posted January 7, 2012 Share Posted January 7, 2012 It looks like the front of the weapon hasn't been painted red; the bit between the barrels that is, not the barrels themselves. For the loincloth you may like to paint it up like a page out of a book or newspaper or just fill it up with the chapter symbol. That's a really good model you've done. Planning on giving the scouts and combat squad green gun cases but wanted the captain to stand apart a little more. Thinking third company which is why i've gone for the red.
