Alpha Legion and an attached Thousand Son; feasible?!

Hello All.

I am thinking about making a unit of Alpha Legion Marines and wanted to know if it would be feasible for there to be a Thousand Sons Librarian/Sorcerer attached to it?

My main intent is for it to be able to sort of hopefully fit in with pre-Heresy, possible Loyalist HH era and/or post Heresy Renegades if I later wanted to make such an army.

For now it is just a sort of diorama type of thing for my own enjoyment, but I would like to know if it would actually make sense that there could be a 1k Son Librarian attached to a unit of Alpha Legion Marines, especially assuming they all maintained their loyalty.

It seemed like pre-Heresy maybe some of the Legions mingled a bit more and had the potential to work closely together and become allies on a personal level?

I really like the idea that around the time of the HH that some members of the Traitor Legions remained loyal and become basically sort of "Loyalist Renegades" even if for some, like the Luna Wolves and the Emperor's Children, it may have been short lived.

Thanks for any input all.

Cheers!

Bascailly, at this point, the fluff supposrts the Alpha Legion doing everything everywhere.

they are turning into 30k's Wolverine.

WLK

/sigh and IMO that is too bad.

What interests me in the AL is that at least by some accounts they may not have actually turned to Chaos in the same way as the other Traitor Legions did.

That they could have been fighting alongside them to get the "best possible outcome" they believed was helping the Emperor achieve his ultimate goal of ending the threat of Chaos and securing Humanities place in the universe.

But of course their actions in the end lead them to helping cause the very outcome they were trying to avoid.

Their Road to Hell being paved with their Good Intentions.

So now it could be possible they are still loyal to the Emperor and working towards the eventual outcome of an end to the Powers of Chaos, being more Renegades than actual Traitors.

The idea that they are just boring old Eviill and simply skulking around everywhere going bump in the night and causing general distress for the sake of how evil they are now as Chaos Marines, meh, I find it rather... flat.

To each their own of course! ;-)

Some may like the "true Chaos Space Marines" version of them, as I said I prefer the more "still Loyal but now Renegades due to their actions" idea.

Which I also find interesting in the minority of Marines that remained basically loyal to the Empire despite their Legions turning Traitor.

Personally, I don't see it happening, the Alpha Legion are far to secretive to let a powerful outside Psyker (potentially a telepath) into their Legion. They have too many secrets (even before Horus' rebellion) to think it'd be a good idea.

Thats just my thoughts on it though... YMMV

I am with you on this one, i doubt the Alpha Legion would let anyone from a different legion work within their ranks.
