Titan painting

Well, the load out is in the picture ;), plasma blast gun and vulcan mega bolter. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the War Griffons legion at this point, since grey and yellow seems pretty neat.

Please benefit from my experience, go with a muted "Yellow Sand" color - a brighter yellow makes it look like a bleached bumblebee. :(

Yep, that's the plan. I might go with Iyanden Darksun as the base color. I've used it before and it comes out as a nice, dim yellow.

Hopefully it'll turn out something like this. This is the only Mars-pattern titan I can find in their colors, but it helps immensely for figuring out the colors (like the trim)

Ah I see, I thought you said you were going to change the loadout that is why I asked but the color s pretty sweet! Can't wait to see your progress.

I'd agree with the post above, normal camo just doesn't suit a titan, I painted mine with a discruptive pattern, but only on the upper surfaces of carapace head and weapons; the logic being that it may give some protection form ariel attack, from a ground based assault titans are just too big to hide, even a warhound.

Are there any naming conventions for Titans? Can't seem to find any.

There is usually a first and a last name in latin or pseudo-latin, sometimes it'll be just the one name. With warhounds the names tend to allude (by sound or meaning) to swiftness or some kind of canine attribute. For warlords the names have more power in them and sound crueller, more brutal. Reavers names tend toward the allusion of being a warrior or being a noble machine. My planned warlord will be named Irae Maxima (The Wrath) and my current warhound is called Vivos Mors (Quick Death) - I used google's translator for them. :)

Hope this helps.

Greatly! Those kinds of naming types are exactly what I was looking for. Hmm...time to decide what to christen this beast as...but of course, that must be painted on last :)

Vivos Mors is actually "Living Death", so you know (so what Google tells me anyway :P). Velox Mors is "Quick Death."

[edit 2] actually, there are multiple translations. "Vivos Mortem"...etc

Yeah, Latin is a bit problematic, especially when using a translator from Google of all places. I doubt fudging it a bit would matter much. :P
