Seahawk
Well, the load out is in the picture :(, plasma blast gun and vulcan mega bolter. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the War Griffons legion at this point, since grey and yellow seems pretty neat. Please benefit from my experience, go with a muted "Yellow Sand" color - a brighter yellow makes it look like a bleached bumblebee. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244999-titan-painting/page/2/#findComment-2964219 Share on other sites
Seahawk
Yep, that's the plan. I might go with Iyanden Darksun as the base color. I've used it before and it comes out as a nice, dim yellow. Hopefully it'll turn out something like this. This is the only Mars-pattern titan I can find in their colors, but it helps immensely for figuring out the colors (like the trim) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/rif5nb.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244999-titan-painting/page/2/#findComment-2964516 Share on other sites

Techmarine Data007
I personally don't think camo suits a Titan. Disruptive patterns, though subtle sort of work, but there's only so much you can do to a Warhound before you're just trying to bluff yourself into believing it works. inquisitor Tarn
I'd agree with the post above, normal camo just doesn't suit a titan, I painted mine with a discruptive pattern, but only on the upper surfaces of carapace head and weapons; the logic being that it may give some protection form ariel attack, from a ground based assault titans are just too big to hide, even a warhound. http://www.darkstarpainting.co.uk/assets/forum/titan/front800.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244999-titan-painting/page/2/#findComment-2968688 Share on other sites

Seahawk
So this has been the progression this past couple months: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4353.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4356.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4613.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4614.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4617.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4618.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_4619.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_7511.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_7512.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/100_7513.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4634.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4635.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4636.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4637.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4641.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4642.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4668.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4669.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/veritas117/supers/100_4671.jpg Are there any naming conventions for Titans? Olis
There is usually a first and a last name in latin or pseudo-latin, sometimes it'll be just the one name. With warhounds the names tend to allude (by sound or meaning) to swiftness or some kind of canine attribute. For warlords the names have more power in them and sound crueller, more brutal. Reavers names tend toward the allusion of being a warrior or being a noble machine. My planned warlord will be named Irae Maxima (The Wrath) and my current warhound is called Vivos Mors (Quick Death) - I used google's translator for them. :) Hope this helps. Seahawk
Greatly! Those kinds of naming types are exactly what I was looking for. Hmm...time to decide what to christen this beast as...but of course, that must be painted on last :) Vivos Mors is actually "Living Death", so you know (so what Google tells me anyway :P). Velox Mors is "Quick Death." [edit 2] actually, there are multiple translations. "Vivos Mortem"...etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244999-titan-painting/page/2/#findComment-3025818 Share on other sites

I doubt fudging it a bit would matter much. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/244999-titan-painting/page/2/#findComment-3026864 Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Very nice. I like your paint job. I hope mine will turn out as nice as yours. Is it a Legio Gryphonicus engine? Seahawk
Yep. After researching the various legions, I settled on the War Griffons, mainly due to their color scheme as well as no longer having a home.
