The squad I'm building is gonna be used alongside my Sons of Horus army as a squad of Chosen since the Alpha Legion worked closely with the Sons of Horus. My Sons of Horus are your normal power armoured Marines that got there helmets on and have the look of the heavy frontline fighter. My Alpha Legionaires should be looking different from the rest of the army. These guys go into the field for a long time and that is why I gave them all there equipment to take with them for longer periods of time. I also gave them no helmets on cause I wanted them to look a lot different from my Sons of Horus and I don't wanted them to look like the rest of my models but then painted blue. That is why I gave them no helmets and naked arms cause I like the look of them being so elite they don't need arm protection cause the enemy won't know what hits them when they hit them :( Anyway here are some pics of my Alpha Legion WIP. The pics are not of the best quality cause it is pretty late but if people want I can also post individual pics of them this week. Thanx to Night Hunter for giving me some nice inspiration to make these models :lol: Enjoy...! I'm trying to give them all a different look and I hope that shows with the weapons and poses. The radio Marine is my Icon of Chaos Glory. Grotsmasha Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Hey man looking good !!! Just a suggestion, but Alpha Legion marines have cosmetic surgery to all look the same, they're all Alpharius. Maybe consider using them same head for every Alpha. When I get around to some true scale Alphas, thats what I intend on doing. Liitle bit o' greenstuff to bring the 2 ends of the Sniper Rifle together and then fling some paint on 'em. Let me know if I can be of any help with anything. When looking at it I'm thinking of cutting of the sword and giving him a bolter that would fit in better with the rest of the squad, what do you guys think? Vissah Posted February 1, 2012 Author Share Posted February 1, 2012 A bit late but here are two of my models painted minus freehand, highlights and basing as you all can see. The freehand A of the Legion will be painted in the same colour green as the bandana and the icon on the bolter to stay in uniform with the Legion. As you can see all my models got all there equipment with them, both of them got ammo pouches and grenades with them and even while they not wearing it they still take there helmet with them cause I use them as Chosen and they need to infiltrate the field so they need to take all there equipment with them :P Standard bolter Marines http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/733/01022012233.jpg Let me know what you guys think and let me know if you wnat to see more cause Im painting al whole squad of 10. There Rhino is already done and it is highlighted with a lighter blue wich looks pretty good in my opinion. Really like the legionary feel they carry.. don't know if I'm too late to comment on the sword - to - bolter conversion, but I'd stick with it and maybe strap a bolter across his torso, like this; - and keep the action!!! some guardlasguns from the catachan sprue come with a plastich strap you do the rest with GS (which I know for a fact is no prob for you at all ^^) For pre heresy models, it would be better to cut the eagle on torsos. agreed!!
