[LPC] 2012 vow: Warhound Titan

Seahawk

How big is it? It looks huge!
Well, this is a commissar standing by his feet there. It is quite posable and can be taller (but probably not much shorter). As it stands, this one is at 9 5/8" or 24.3cm in height.

Looks like you'll be fine, brother. Can't wait to see it finished. <_<

I've never seen a Warhound Titan in the flesh, er metal....resin (whatever )

Cool as it is, seeing it on display is one thing. Seeing it on a game table is another thing entirely. The look on an opponents face when he sees it splat his biggest and best AT unit is priceless because he knows after that he's very likely screwed. :P

I'm painting one of these beasts myself right now and aim to have it completed in the next couple weeks much like yourself :P Lovely work you've done so far i'll be following how you get on with it. Might even throw up a few shots of my own in a day or two

Basic colors are being blocked in. I used Testors Model Master Acryl because it was more useful being thinner and easier to work with.

I have to thank you, Seahawk. Thanks to your threat i know how to assemble my warhound. I hope my kit is complete.

What do you plan for the two big slots in the top armour? I think i will take a look at the nearest modelling store for a perforated metal plate.

Happy to help! Actually, there is a piece of photoetched brass mesh that covers the two vents, along with a piece that goes in there that has like fans and other cooling gear and stuff.

Ouch. Three months to get a Titan finished. Nasty. :D

From the sound of adding the pistons, you actually have all of the parts, rather than that being all you got?

I have the Warhound and the Reaver, I'm figuring a year each. Other than looking at the bags of parts, and checking the directions, I haven't even started yet. First, I need names...

That's the intent! I'm fairly certain I can get it done at this point. Most likely tonight I'll finish up shading/weathering the external parts, leaving me a couple days to complete the cockpit and other interior bits.

Armor, trim, and major bits are complete! All that's left are small details and the cockpit...wooo!

Both the grey and yellow have the mottled effect. Instead of doing it via shading, I first painted the darker color over the entire area, then airbrushed the lighter color in spots on top of that, easy peasy. Shading has merely been around the trim and edges, as normal.

The cockpit is complete!

All that's left are minor details on the main body, wooo. I should definitely be able to get this done by Saturday. Quite a feat, seeing as how I only gave myself a month to work on it :)

The shade of yellow works well :P

Impressive feat, building and painting a Warhound in a month. Nicely done! ^_^
