Khestra the Unbeheld
So this year, I pledged a Daemon Prince (my second one, yeah, I'm about to be 'That Guy') and two Rhino transports for my small World Eaters force to complement their Land Raider. This thread is the progress meter for the work, and thus far we're off to a decent start. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Zeonfiend/DSCF2390.jpg The two Rhinos I got built (mostly) and primered (mostly) this past weekend. They didn't take very long, as they're minimalist at the moment. I'll do the trophy racks, chains, hooks, etc later, once the primary coat is done and I don't have to worry about going over places I might have forgotten. In any event, here they are in their current condition. I expect them both to be done by the end of next week. Which leads me to my other problem project, namely. . . http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Zeonfiend/DSCF2391.jpg . . .Bugaboo, here. As you can see, what I have are the leftovers of the newer plastic Daemon Prince being forced to work along with leftovers of the older metal Daemon Prince. It's not going to be a pleasant conversion, especially since I'm going to have to actually construct a pelvis for the plastic legs and tail to fit to, as the metal Prince had no tail and didn't have chicken legs. The wings will end up being pinned, most likely. The arms I can mash on there with green stuff. The head, unfortunately, is scaled differently from the metal Prince's head, so the neck is atrociously thick. Not certain how I'm going to allay the visual problem that will entail from the end product, but I'm thinking my old go-to, the Defiler, may prove useful yet again to camouflage the fact that this guy has a tiny skull. So here's where we stand as of this moment. Progress is being made. L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245020-khestra-the-unbehelds-lpc-2012-thread/ Share on other sites
Grimdarkness
What about using some of the bigger Tomb king kits for parts? Good luck with your vow. Khestra the Unbeheld
What about using some of the bigger Tomb king kits for parts? Good luck with your vow. That would involve me buying Fantasy pieces. Eww. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245020-khestra-the-unbehelds-lpc-2012-thread/#findComment-2963682 Share on other sites
Khestra the Unbeheld
Ha ha!! In before the bell! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Zeonfiend/DSCF2399.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Zeonfiend/DSCF2400.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Zeonfiend/DSCF2401.jpg One Daemon Prince and two Rhinos, done and painted! The Prince ended up being very different from how I'd originally envisioned him, so I managed to acquire a plastic torso and pieced him together in more of a bog-standard version instead of a time-consuming and difficult conversion. My rationale behind it was basically that I already have a Big Bad Prince, so this guy ought to be like a lesser Underboss-type. I gave him a mostly-fleshy look instead of the heavy armor look of my other Prince, and did him up in my usual Daemonic red wash-over-Elven Flesh routine. The Rhinos, two transports for my burgeoning World Eaters, are minimalist. This might seem pretty un-World Eatery, which you'd be correct about, but my logic behind this is in anticipation of the upcoming Chaos Codex. If they don't give us a Destroyer option or some other similar thing for the Legions, then these Rhinos are fine as they are. If they do, however, I wanted to leave room for spiky bits and appropriate bladed objects as needed. So here they are. Now I can get back to work on some Fallen Angel Terminators I got hired to build. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245020-khestra-the-unbehelds-lpc-2012-thread/#findComment-3029216 Share on other sites
