Space Wolf terminator in light grey armour

As a long time Dark Angels player, it stings a little bit when I paint Space Wolves... maybe it's because of the rivalry or maybe because they are so cool looking. Either way, I tried my hand at painting a Space Wolf with the real light grey armour the other day and wanted to share it here with some folks who might appreciate it.

I did do a bit of a tutorial with the post on my blog and that can be found here.

Enjoy the pics!

Very nice! I think the lighter grey combined with the snowy base gives it more of a cold feel. The darker grey would have seemed warmer. Might be an impression of "frost" tinting the grey armor. Love the "red maw" on the terminator honor. Thou I will have to agree with my brothers that the skull should be bone. Like all the other skulls on the armor. I can understand wanting to make the honor different from the other skulls though.

I like the contrasting Greys, they work well together; but I can see a little Deathwing trying to work itself in there

and I like the left shoulder pad. I too would usually go for the bleeched bone look but it was got a little 'Bloodied Hunter' thing going on and I like it.

The rust and damage effects are simplistic and not overdone which is very to get wrong.

Nice 'how to' on the other site. Always are from you.

The others have said what I was going to anyway. Do like the red maw on the Crux but its not quite the Bran Redmaw you stated you were trying in the article.

What grey did you use BTW? You dart its a primer so is that the Valljeo one?

Thanks guys!

I know what some of you mean about the bone color on the crux.

I decided to keep it dark grey for the "stone" look if you will and to give it a little contrast to the light colored armour.

forte: The primer is your basic stuff from Walmart. I included a picture of it in the bottom of my blog post to show what it looks like exactly along with the bottle color I use for touch-ups.
