The Knights Of Annihilation cannot be described as a Unforgiven successor chapter because officially they don't exist. They are are secret order started by the Supreme Grand Master with the sole purpose of removing all knowledge of the Fallens presence. If rumors are whispers on an imperial world of black armored figures hidden in surplices of white, you best pray you are deaf and blind because they operate under one directive "leave no witnesses". Their grey terminator armor is devoid of any iconography and they are all robed in surplices of bone with helms of white. All are members of the inner circle coming from all of the Unforgiven successor chapters their forces never consist of more than 100 knights of none. They are headquartered aboard a single strike cruiser "The Son of None" equipped with a cloaking field to mask its actual size and shape it will masquerade as the ship of a rogue trader will false a false identification code naming it as the "Desolate" under the command of a man who never existed. Equipped with as much firepower as a ship nearly twice it size it can strike as fast and as hard as the merciless knights who walk its veins. On small agri-worlds they have descended upon they have left villages barren and burned to the ground and have planted evidence of local inserection or the "Son of None" has found it now has a new crew of servitors manning its decks, for no one must know of the lengths they will go to silence those who have glimpsed at the truth. If they must infiltrate a hive world to investigate rumors of Fallen they will don scout armor to minimalize unnecessary slaughter, hopefully those who have seen a Fallen aren't to loose with their lips or else all their family and associates may meet the same fate. The Knights of Annihilation are commanded by Grand Master Endriago and the Council of Seven. Endriago is a grim and ruthless leader and strategist as well as a master of void warfare he has served under the Unforgiven Legion for several centuries. They are the monument of sin to their once proud legion showing how far they will go to keep the exisitance of their Fallen brothers a secret from the prying eyes of the Ordo Hereticus, and the Imperium.

I've run out of steam let me know what you guys think, this is just a little idea I have been kicking around in my head for a while and I finally took a little time to document it.

First of all it is an excellent concept! I always thought that the Unforgiven should have a body that will act a bit like “Mr. Wolf” if you like, a clean-up/cover-up operations unit! Not necessarily for combat but more like assassins/secret service unit. My take is that the entire Unforgiven are more akin to modern age secret agency – so a unit such as you proposed certainly fits. Also cool name for the Grand Master! :D

I also like that you play heavily on the “Secret Legion” theme and the fact that it is a bit like Deathwatch but exclusive to the Unforgiven – i.e. a Chapter but not really a Chapter. It recruits ready-made marines (veterans in fact) from across many (Unforgiven) Chapters to follow a common cause. And I like that their mandate is to cover-up rather than engage with the Fallen or any other enemy…

Now comments:

Why grey? Really, why grey? With white helmets to boot… Sorry – not a fan of your chosen paint scheme. This is purely subjective of course, but…grey? ^_^

Regarding the space ship: excellent idea to have it disguised as a Rogue Trader vessel. However I’d say make the actual Rogue Trader a real person – either in the service of the Unforgiven (not-knowing the real agenda of course) or dead. But real so that if anyone actually inquires he’ll come up with a “bullet proof” story!

Also the name of the vessel, the “None” thing… Not liking it either - sorry. Having two names is fine and a good idea but Son of None? No-no… How about the “Ultimate Redemption” kind of thing? You know, sort of like Knight of Annihilation riding on the Ultimate Redemption?

Again the idea is great! Bring more!

I like your idea, but first thing I thought of was Grey Knights. "Chapter made that nonbody knows about" got me thinking of Grey Knights.

Another thing I don't like about the idea, is it's too secritive. I mean if there was information about the Fallen, having people in Power Armour or Terminator armour an din groups of 100 of none (awsome naming though, love it) doesn't seem so secrative. Too me this would be too much killing of innocence just to keep a secret. Maybe I see DA differently but I don't see DA killing for their secret. There is just no honour in it. Again another GK reference when they kill innocents to keep their secret. Also funny how your colour is "grey" hehe.

As I said I can't see big bulky figures trying to clandestinly eliminate any traces of the Fallen, be it literature, computer banks or even peoples memory. If anything this would be done by small stealth teams that blend into the population and not stand out.

But I do like what you are trying to do, and it shows promise. Please keep it up, it is better than what I tried to think of.

HsojVvad you wound me comparing my creation to the pitiful thing matt ward now considers grey knights. Mine are grey while Gks are silver. Grey Knights are not secretive their known. In my mind I believe the unforgiven would go to any length to eradicate the very memory of the fallen and walk the line betwixt renegade and loyalist. They are the only remaining legion we are the Legio Unforgiven and have taken out battle barges of loyalists to hide the truth (black templar codex). The reason they got around 100 they basically only consist of a first company not a chapter more of a special task-force. If somethings not to you fancy how about suggest an alternative. I kinda like the synergy of bleach robes, dark grey armor not silver, black shoulders, and white helmets, but hey I don't feel like repainting my 40 termies, 2 LR and 3 dreadnoughts. This is still work in progress so more criticism is appreciated.

Agreed, but it would be better if the rogue trader was secretely a chapter serf,or even better a recruit who passed selection but was finally not fit to become a space marine for whatever reason, and was indoctrinated to preform this specific mission.

Sorry didn't mean to wound you. I was going off the Deamon Hunter codex since I never bought the GK codex. (still haven't bought the SM codex either DA through and through :P) I didn't mean to say they are GK, but the story first reminded me of the GK from C:DH. I really like your story and where you are going with it. I also like your colour scheme.

Someone mentioned about having an actual Rouge Trader. I love this idea. I would think it's great for him not to wear power armour. As I said before this way he can work stealthy. We can say his Save is not from Power armour but him being able to adapt to his enviroment and use it to his full advantage so he gets a 3+ saves or if in Terminator armour 2+ saves and say he has shields or really adapts to the situation since he is Fallen.

I agree DA would do what is needed to rid any trace of Fallen. Just don't like the idea of Mass Murder, I always thought DA were more Honourable than this. ^_^

I guess for having a large force or bigger force, units in Power Armour, is that when the Stealthy missions didn't work, or alarms were sent, it was time for the bigger guns to come in and rescue the Rouge Trader. So now thinking about it, I have changed my mind about not using PA and think it is a good choice to have. I would still make a Rouge Trader though. Hell I might even some of your ideas. I think I finally found a way to use Gideon Lorr mini as a Dark Angel now. He can be a RT that is a DA Unforgiven. He uses stealth measures and when all else fails the bigger brothers come in and handle the situation.

I really like what you are doing, looking forward to more of your fluff and pics. :)
