Tzimisce169
Afternoon to all you B&C-ers, hope you're all well. In a couple of months I'll be trundling off to the GW HQ for a weekend of games and beers for the first 40k soubles tourney this year. This time round my team mate and I decided to start a whole new army and go for a Grey knights force. This was a total break from the norm as our previous armies to this event have included Emperors children/Iron warriors, Tyranids & Space Wolves/Sould Drinkers. So with this one time foray into purity, I thought I'd post the WIP pics on here for C&C Enjoy Strike squad http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight12.jpg Paladin http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight11.jpg Grand master 1 http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight10.jpg Grand master 2 http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight9.jpg Justicar http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight8.jpg Marines http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight7.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight6.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight5.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight4.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/knight2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245380-t169s-grey-knight-tourney-force/ Share on other sites
Tzimisce169
Wow, that sucks. 122 views and no comments. Either my stuff is too awesome for words or it's so totally rubbish that =I= had everyone's mind wiped. Oh well nevermind. I'll post more stuff as it's done. Ceasarian
I think that you a have a great start to a Grey Knight army here. I really like the poses that you gave both of your Grand Masters- they really show off how great the new plastic kits are and the many different options that you can get from them. The blending that you have done on the sword is top notch as well. Be sure to post up your future progress up here- also if you can post up a picture of everything that you have painted so far- it'll give the reader a better impression of what you are aiming for with the completion of your army. Good work so far, I look forward to seeing more. Kierdale
Very nice work. One thing to be careful of though is mould lines. Some are pretty evident on weapons and arms. A quick scrape with a modeling knife'll have them cleaned up quickly enough and make the miniatures look much better. stuka06
Damn, I know how that feels. I like what I see. Did you use an airbrush to achieve the effect on the nemesis swords? I also like the extra details on the bases. for the pictures, I achieve the best results by using a white sheet of paper as a background and placing 2 desk lamps close to the models. this way I don't have to use a long exposure time or over expose the model using the flash. Tzimisce169
Thanks for looking and commmenting guys, I was starting to get a little paranoid. So, in response to the comments, Mould lines have been removed. Plain boring bases are going to be GS'd into life. All of the nemesis blades are done freehand using my gf as a critic. (she's actually really good at helpful criticism) I have to admit, I'm a little stumped as to what to do for the bases. I don't want to do the following: Flock and green edges. Grey and black edges Snow and any kind of edge. Also, seeing as I've already added masonry and debris to the bases I can't now do a lava scheme. What I'm thinking of is doing a light sandstone, kind of a browny/yellow with a snakebite edging. What do you think? Tzimisce169
OK, so I spent most of today painting one of my Grand Masters start to finish, which is unusual for me as I normally take ages to complete a model. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/414915_10150473493016652_549836651_9156207_1107300966_o.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/lucianvanguard/Grey%20Knights%20torney%20army/337881_10150473170821652_549836651_9155325_1767266129_o-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245380-t169s-grey-knight-tourney-force/#findComment-2973460 Share on other sites
