jamesknouse Posted January 19, 2012 Share Posted January 19, 2012 I have been dabbling in other forums posting my stuff and trying to get a feel for which 40k forum is home to me. I have decided BC is my home. So without further ado... This is my Space Wolf army the Direwolves. They are officially led by a Venerable Dreadnaught known as Wolf Mother but unofficially led by an Iron Priest. Other colorful characters are mixed throughout. The 30k era concept portion of the army will be led by Bjorn the Fell handed and his Varangi bodyguard led by Thengir wielding the Spear of Russ. The 40k era concept will be led by Wolf Mother and an Iron Priest army will be guiding the ancient Direwolves back to Mars and Holy Tera after nearly 10k years of looking for Leman Russ. The reason for their return is unknown. What is known is they are heading straight for Mars with set of scrolls found in a lost temple among lifeless planets of the Ghoul Stars. They fight friend and foe alike in their quest back to Mars and all attempts at communication fail and are returned with one simple response back “For Him”. What special cargo do the Direwolves carry? Only time will tell. Enjoy. My Iron Priest concept. I am pleased with what I came up with so far and barring a few bitz this is him. Way to much to carry! I converted a Storm Bolter, Mechanicus artifact (A targeter in my world due to the bionic eye), and a Space Wolf Bolter. His Bolter was mounted below his torso. I always thought holding a Bolter and wielding a huge Thunder Hammer was a little much even for Runic Armour. This Brother Wolf and his squad were charged with holding down a city street intersection and were attacked by a battle wagon of Burner Boyz. After taking Small arms and hits from flame throwers he unleashed his Melta exploding the wagon. His squad was then assaulted by mobs of Orcs. The Dire Wolves A junior officer runs through corridors and up metal gantry ways her feet clanging on worn metal. Out of breath and pushing herself hard sweat dropping from her brow to the command deck and to her watch commander. The doors wish open on ancient mechanisms, the deck officers look up from their stations to see the sight of a junior officer and her distress. “stop” shouts the command officer. Just what do you think you are doing in this unseemly manner”. She hands him a print out and he looks at the data. His face drops and he starts to stutter. “ What? What? What, the hell is this?” Sir a large battle cruiser called the Orman Lange has just entered the Sol system and is stationed at Pluto waiting for our reply. It is a type not seen since the great crusade. No Astropathic communication whatsoever. They are using ancient imperial codes and they are valid. They say they will not wait for long before they continue. What should I do? After many millennia, the Legio Canis are re-entering the heart of the imperium and the sol system. They have travelled far and long. To continue their search they have taken the help of the mechanicum allies on board and utilised the arcane arts to prolong their lives. Inducted into the secrets and accepting the duality of the emperor with the Omnisiah the dire wolves part man part machine have now returned with a great treasure. It is crated and under the strictest security and care lest any dare to seek its contents. They now speed to Holy Mars to deliver this object and perhaps unlock its secrets. Wolf Mother is one of the last of the Varangi sent by Bjorn to search for Russ. He is full of blood lust and the long years has driven him close to insanity in his quest for the Great Wolf. His body long destroyed by the eons has been rebuilt many times by the Great Iron Priests and the Adeptus Mechanicus Legio Canis Dirus.
