As for the ammunition, I agree that the rounds are a bit small, but after trying to manufacture my own I went to dragonforge.com. I ordered their largest size ammunition, and was initially slightly disappointed, but have found so many uses for them I might need to order more soon. The only advice I have it be ready to have an afternoon stolen, as it takes a lot of time. I suppose I could throw together a tutorial on making weapons if people are interested. As for the size of the rounds, if I remember correctly the autocannon on the old Chaos/genestealer heavy weapons sprue (autocannon/missile launcher/conversion beamer) had small rounds, so it's not entirely without precedent.
