Alternate Librarian

So over the last month or so i've posted a couple of times about wanting an alternative librarian model for my grey knights

I've finally built my Librarian. He is converted out of a chaos terminator lord and here he is.

I filed down all the chaos detail on the torso which left a very blank chest which i painted with a blue lightning effect. He is holding the chaos sorcerer staff from the terminator lord set, i like the idea of it being like castellan crowe's sword.

Any comments? anything i could have done better?

EDIT: oh, and how do i get the first photo to rotate? it was the right way up on my computer

I think that you should have cut off the Chaos icon at the top of the sorcerer's staff and added something more Imperial looking, but whatever floats your boat. The B&C has some very good advice articles on photography archived. There is one article specifically that helped me out a lot, but I can't remember which one it is, though I'm sure it is one of the articles here.

I like the idea that the staff was taken from some greater daemon or other, maybe even garguloth from the GK omnibus

I may have come off a little terse in my reply. I think that the painting is good, better than what I get up to. I don't like the idea of GK using Daemon Weapons, but there it is, I guess they do. But there is a fine line, the very finest when it comes to things like this. The idea of an icon for me is very important because it is a symbol of allegiance or faith. To keep a daemon imprisoned in a weapon and use it to kill other daemons is one thing, but to march and fight under a symbol of allegiance to the Ruinous Powers is something else.

 

But this is simply my opinion.
