the emperor is scottish
I was just wondering how you would compare Logan to other special space marine characters, loyal and traitor. How would you rate him next to the likes of Calgar, the sanguinor, mephesiton, abbadon and other big hitting special characters? Have any of you guys been giving the opportunity to have him go toe to toe with any of said characters or cool story's of amazing feats of strength? Share your stories. the emperor is scottish
Im actually surprised that he took down mephiston, where he hits its like a demolished cannon going off but like it said his lack of inv save is a real let down. Gota give it to the wolves though they can take a hit just as much as throwing them out. It'd be good if the loyalists had a monster of a character on their side to match abandon. Russ Brother 92
tbh if Matt Ward has anything to do with it Abaddon will be nerfed majorly - and the loyalists do - he's just shiny in silver and a stupid character aka Draigo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245757-the-old-wolf/#findComment-2974179 Share on other sites
MonSTeR
I think the foreward to that article hits on what is a very important part and that is how different characters interact with the different units they're with (or not) as the case may be. Mephiston is a "strictly on his own" kinda guy, whereas Logan works well either on his own or leading a unit, be it a wolfguard pack (that counts as a Troops choice) or a long fang pack, giving them the Relentless special rule. A lot of it also comes down to positioning on the table top. Other characters can have better ranged attacks that can gnaw away wounds from Logan one on one, but when leading a unit, he has "extra" wounds to soak up some of those hits. To me the main thing is he has is the ability to strike at high initiative and high streght (S5) or low initiative and very high strength (S8) but having the Eternal warrior special rule but that this ability in close combat is coupled with a great deal of flexibility what can be used in the deployment phase, where you put him, with what unit and so on. Russ Brother 92
Indeed - one of the key things about Logan imho. is that with Counter-Attack he's got 5 Attacks - 3 can be frost weapon (S5/I5) and 2 power fist (S8/I1) or in any variation of that - so against a squad of eldar or orks you may want more attacks striking before them as they don't have invulnerables, whereas against terminators, MC's or walkers you'd want the high strength.
