SO I used my $50 B&N gift card from Christmas and ordered my HH: Collected Visions on December 27th, its January 20th and I JUST got it today. I've already skimmed through some of the artwork and can't wait to start reading some of the literature. Hope its worth the wait! SO far it seems like it is, I haven't seen 90% of this artwork in here.

The only problem is you will find yourself making more and more conversions, in my case in about 2 trays worth of various Space wolf heroes, about 2 dozen thousand sons sorcerers and ideas for kill teams of a few other legions. Don't forget the contemptors, they are hard to resist once you have this book. It is books like this that GW should focus on selling stuff more, perhaps convert WD to an art showcase style magizine? would be a lot more effective then the gloriyfied cataloge/on big long "BUY ME" advert.
My brother gave me a copy for Christmas a while back and it is still awesome to look through. You can always find something new that you never noticed before, and it's a fantastic modeling resource. My only complaint is the picture of a Devastator squad armed with 4 assault cannons. It's not fair showing me that and then not letting it be a legal option!

Haha yeah I'm already noticing some caption errors, but I'll look past that ;)

The cards in the back are awesome, would be kinda cool to have the whole set, but I never got into card games like that.

Soooo hard to resist getting back into modelling Warhammer 40k. Its way too expensive for me right now :(

I've got I, IV and of the others in-between, I think II, the one with Sanguinius on the cover.

Great books, they award many a heartwarming moment from reading about the Heresy in black-and-white tones, it's the good and the bad, Horus just convinces a few buddies and they go tell papa what they think of him. Then again, even with all the details the HH novels have given us, that's still pretty much how I see it, with a few exceptions.

Still, there are many...less-than-acceptable artwork pieces in there. I don't claim to be better, since I basically don't/can't paint my artwork, but some of those are just not good enough for the artistic standards of Warhammer 40 000.

It's all made worthwile, though, when you come across the illustrations done by Paul Dainton, Alex Boyd, John Blanche's concepts, Tiernan Trevallion, Adrian Smith, Michael Phillippi, and a few others.

Basically, these books taught me how to draw 40k. They're still on my bedside table for a reason.

Edit: And Sam Wood. Goddamit, was I really going to forget about Sam Wood...?
