BJORNin83
SO I used my $50 B&N gift card from Christmas and ordered my HH: Collected Visions on December 27th, its January 20th and I JUST got it today. I've already skimmed through some of the artwork and can't wait to start reading some of the literature. Hope its worth the wait! SO far it seems like it is, I haven't seen 90% of this artwork in here. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/401164_346779915350273_100000548026410_1230910_839910354_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/396499_346781135350151_1668449934_n.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/ Share on other sites
Kodanshi
Yes, it is quite awesome, even with a lot of caption errors on some of the pictures. I particularly love the card list from the game at the back. At any rate, well done, and I hope you have loads of fun with it! Rune Priest Ridcully
The only problem is you will find yourself making more and more conversions, in my case in about 2 trays worth of various Space wolf heroes, about 2 dozen thousand sons sorcerers and ideas for kill teams of a few other legions. Don't forget the contemptors, they are hard to resist once you have this book. It is books like this that GW should focus on selling stuff more, perhaps convert WD to an art showcase style magizine? would be a lot more effective then the gloriyfied cataloge/on big long "BUY ME" advert. Mr.selfdestruct
My brother gave me a copy for Christmas a while back and it is still awesome to look through. You can always find something new that you never noticed before, and it's a fantastic modeling resource. My only complaint is the picture of a Devastator squad armed with 4 assault cannons. It's not fair showing me that and then not letting it be a legal option! BJORNin83
Haha yeah I'm already noticing some caption errors, but I'll look past that ;) The cards in the back are awesome, would be kinda cool to have the whole set, but I never got into card games like that. Soooo hard to resist getting back into modelling Warhammer 40k. Its way too expensive for me right now :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2973166 Share on other sites

Dorns Padawan
If you have read Mechanicus then you will love the related short story :tu: . StrangeGuy
I finally got this too, was hoping for some Salamandery goodness for a heresy era project I'm starting... but alas, only 3 images of Salamanders. Cool book anyways though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2973261 Share on other sites

Aqatone
I've got the individual volumes of I, II, III and IV. Is it released in just one giant book now? Marshal Traben
It was released as a big book years ago. I bought mine in 2007 or 2008, i think. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2975240 Share on other sites
Olis
I've got the individual volumes of I, II, III and IV. Is it released in just one giant book now? It's not essential to have if you've got the seperate volumes. That didn't really stop me from getting it anyway, though. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2975294 Share on other sites
Lord Lorne Walkier
Haha yeah I'm already noticing some caption errors, but I'll look past that :P Not ALL the "caption errors" are mistakes, i think. Some just have not happened yet. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2975501 Share on other sites
Aqatone
There really are some blatant errors. Like an Emperors Children marine being labelled as an Ultramarine for example. And cool, I kinda like individual volumes more with the cool pictures of the front :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245758-finally-got-it/#findComment-2975628 Share on other sites
Greyall
I've got I, IV and of the others in-between, I think II, the one with Sanguinius on the cover. Great books, they award many a heartwarming moment from reading about the Heresy in black-and-white tones, it's the good and the bad, Horus just convinces a few buddies and they go tell papa what they think of him. Then again, even with all the details the HH novels have given us, that's still pretty much how I see it, with a few exceptions. Still, there are many...less-than-acceptable artwork pieces in there. I don't claim to be better, since I basically don't/can't paint my artwork, but some of those are just not good enough for the artistic standards of Warhammer 40 000. It's all made worthwile, though, when you come across the illustrations done by Paul Dainton, Alex Boyd, John Blanche's concepts, Tiernan Trevallion, Adrian Smith, Michael Phillippi, and a few others. Basically, these books taught me how to draw 40k. They're still on my bedside table for a reason. Edit: And Sam Wood. Goddamit, was I really going to forget about Sam Wood...?
