I am thinking about buying the 35 terminator holding foam tray, but I want to be sure it is tall enough for banners, missile launchers, etc before dropping the cash. Anyone know?

I dont know what tray you are talking about specifically, but from personal experience of multiple foam cases, they will not hold back banners unless you make special cuts in the foam.

Simple solution is to magnetise them.

I have the 35 Termie Tray. It is fine for everything but back banners. Additionally some LC, TH/SS models are a tight fit. Some misc models (the Termie Libby for example) do not fit easily.

I personally don't care much for back banners on terminators. Worst case I have a few iron halos and some Dark Angels mounted on the tops of some. Most of the "taller" ones will be Zephyr Missile Launchers from Ebay.

Seriously thinking about ordering the 35 Terminator Tray...

This is what I am looking at.

My thought is I use the top row for "taller" models and cut as needed. Then fill squads down. Anyone else have thoughts?

I'm just using armytransport. I get three rows of six standing up in a tray, and I use the 3" tray so I can just put a "plug" in the bottom of each man's hole to raise the floor by the right amount that the top of the model is just below the top of the tray...it's kinda wasteful, since only the librarian (I don't use backpack banners, either) and CML models really need the tray to be that deep, but it also works out well with what else is in the motor pool bag. I have the double-wide 4" tray for two land raiders and two dreads, another 4" tray in case I want to bring a third land raider (also has room for a third dreadnought), and then I have a 3" tray for a ravenwing squadron if that's the way I'm going... I pretty much always take at least three squads and a pair of land raiders, and speeders fit in the dreddy holes, so I can bring 1500-2k points in that single bag using just three (including the double) trays...sure, the 3" trays leave a one inch void at the top, but that doesn't bother me. Anyway, no issues with anything fitting, it works well in 40x60mm holes.

Sabol Trays are much cheaper. They are quickly approaching having my money. Haha.

3" trays will fit CMLs and Back Angels and Banners. Will 2" or 2.5" fit normal terminators better?

Also, you said 3 wide and 6 across on the Terminators. It seems I will need four trays for what I am planning. Can you post your terminators in their tray? Also, do you pull out a 3x3 or 4x4 to fit their bases?
