ElectricPaladin
I'm only about a year into wargaming and six months into Blood Angels. My other armies include Tau, Lizardmen, Everblight, and Cygnar. I play for fun, but my definition of fun includes winning games and improving my skills, so I always try to learn more about the game, the rules, and the tactics that will help me play better. In real life, I'm a middle school science teacher in Oakland, CA (for the non-Americans, that means I teach 12 year olds in a really rough neighborhood) and sometimes getting my aggression out with tiny plastic spacemen is all that stands between me and being a huge jerk. I'm a married man, and not only does my wife approve of my hobby, she's the one who suggested it. All in all, though, my story in wargaming as an adult is one of coming full circle back to a hobby I should have started a long time ago. I'm intent on making up for lost time. I enjoy armies that are stylish and fun to play, by which I mean that even though I do want to be competitive I don't want to play an army that's boring. As a result, I play a highly assault-focused Descent of Angels Blood Angels list. If the rumors of 6th Edition are true, I may have to mix this list up a little bit, which will make me sad. What else is there to say? I just bought myself a stormraven (happy birthday to me!) and man does this kit look complicated - the fact that I've also got the Chapterhouse kit probably won't make this any easier. I've got a bunch of spare predator chassis that I might turn into Rhinos and the basis of a Sisters of Battle force, because my wife wants me to paint some combat nuns and I don't know how to stop. I'm looking forward to learning from and contributing to this community. For the Emperor and Sanguinius! Obscura
Howdy and welcome. You should hit up Endgame in Oakland, they've got 40k on Tuesdays and Saturdays, plus a whole bunch of stuff going on during the other days. Only know this since I game there whenever I can.
