Gentlemanloser
Reading a little closer, and contemplating the implications of Assaulting from DS (anyone want to face a 'letter army coming in off Icons? Even with Defensive fire?), I've noticed some confusion surrounding Teleport Moves. A new type of Move action, used with things like the PT 'Shunt' or Necrons, this type of Move doesn't inherantly Scatter (or suffer from Critical Range) but doesn't allow you to charge/engage. Which makes sense, as you would have to teleport into the opponents Squad. Which might be a little risky! On the plus side it doesn't suffer from Defensive Fire. The 'Update' for the GK codex doesn't list The Summoning as using the Deep Strike rules any more, but makes it a Teleport Move. So no Assault, but no defensive fire and no scatter. Which is ok. But the Teleport Homer entry now lists it as being able to be used with Teleport Moves (like a PT Shut, and now The Summoning), but these now no longer Scatter. So why? Also, our DS (with Skulls, and Mystics - who unlike Homers can remain embarked and still be of use!) would seem to be one of the best. Depending on who gets DS (Heroic). Drop Pods seem a little less useful (which we don't get) as you still can't Assault after disembarkation of a Transport that arrives by DS. (I'll also note here that embarked units can't control objectives any more. :) ) And PT Interceptors can't assault from disembarking from a Stormraven using 'Rapid Insertion'. With all this taken into account, and assuming that none of our units get DS (Heroic), how would you utilise the changes to Deep Strike, and assaulting after Deep Strike? Mordrak, Servo Skulls, Mystics (Purgation Squads with Homers?), NDKs and Strike Squads? How would you best use 'The Summoning'? Use it to pull Incinerator units into range? The Holy Heretic
Well, I wouldn't give it that much thought. This 6th ed. Rule book is supposedly a fake, and noone will know for sure untill a new book is on sale  And with GW this will invariably result in a lot of inconsistencies and incompatibilities, so no use guessing and devicing strategies to utilize these rules. Better put your time to good use, bake a cake and invite some buddies over for a game of 5th  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245990-teleport-moves/#findComment-2978613 Share on other sites

The article is online now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245990-teleport-moves/#findComment-2980239 Share on other sites

My best advice is to not spend money on your army based on what you read in that 'leak.' Seahawk
But, what will I do at work? :)...work. Yea, while there may be a touch of truth to it everything is still up for change, so there's no use prepping for something that likely won't exist. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/245990-teleport-moves/#findComment-2980757 Share on other sites
