Kobrakei
I have posted this in the WIP section, but deffo wanted some feedback from my fellow Grand Masters! I have been working on my Grey Knights steadily since last August, grabbing an hour here and there to work on the army. Now it's nearly finished and I wanted to share my work with all of you for your thoughts. As of yesterday all of the infantry in my list is now complete! All I have left to finish are my Stromraven which is 90% complete, two Razorbacks for the Purifier squads and a Rhino for the Strike squad. The barrels will be drilled out soon, I'm just down a drill and to be honest I'm not the most confident in drilling :S What I'm enjoying about painting this army is that since I started playing in 1995, this is the closest I have ever come to having a completely painted tabletop standard army...which is an amazing feeling. To see something that I've laboured over come to life is fantastic for me, and I highly encourage it for all those who struggle to work through their painting! Anyways...on with the pics! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0224.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0225.jpg Strike Force Leader Borther-Librarian Kyrion Spalko http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0226.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0227.jpg Garran Crowe http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0229.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0228.jpg Terminator Squad Haimon http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0231.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0232.jpg Terminator Squad Rafael http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0233.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0234.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0235.jpg Strike Squad Abiydan http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0236.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0237.jpg Purifier Squad Belenzar http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0239.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b167/burnthecitydown/SAM_0240.jpg Purifier Squad Grensael I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed painting them. fivepointedstar
Very nice looking GK's eventhou the barrels aren't drilled out, and the photo is dark. But I clearly see the robed Inquistor in the Strike Squad Abiydan photo was inspecting his/ her loyal deamon hunters... Something Wycked
Very nice looking GK's  But I clearly see the robed Inquistor in the Strike Squad Abiydan photo was inspecting his/ her loyal deamon hunters... Exactly this :( I'm about to (finally) purchase some GK models and get them painted, and I'm in the same boat you used to be- almost completely unpainted models are all that I have. I use the excuse that I'm a tactician and not an artist, but I still really want to get my models painted. Thanks for the inspiration with your beautiful work! number6
Truly, they look great! :P I too would recommend drilling out the bolter and psycannon holes. Makes a big difference on models that otherwise have so much detail that is so well emphasized in the paint. How did you end up painting the NFWs? Careful layering? Drybrushing? A combination? Kobrakei
Something Wycked - Please do get stuck in...it's suprising how quick you can get stuff done once you work out a quick way to paint your stuff to a good standard especially if you're inspired...there's a great stickied thread on the WIP section about painting for 30 mins a day which I found invaluable...and then post them up! number6 - Thanks for the praise...it looks like I'll just have to give drilling a go...practice practice practice! As for the blades, I based them with Astronomicon Grey, then two washes of Asurman blue, trying to use one application each time and dragging the brush from the bottom of the blade to the tip. Then I drybrushed the tip lightly with Skull White. If you get the wash on correctly the tip will naturally be lighter so it should look like the blade is blended...but it takes practice cos not even all my swords look quite the same.
