igotsmeakabob!!
I, igotsmeakabob!! of the Blood Angels, vow on the honour of my Chapter to paint and present at least one squad of Assault Marines and two Independent Characters on or before the 31st of March, 2012. I promise to provide at least two WIP updates, preferably with pictures, in that time. I vow that if I should fail, I will provide the Librarium with an article and wear the Signature of Shame until my penitence period is done. I started an escalating story/map campaign with a bunch of other players, and I could certainly use some more impetus to get painting! Thus, the vow. I should end up doing more than is included above by the end of March, though. Let's start off with my 40k workspace and a shot of some of the models I vowed to paint. Here we have my tiny, cluttered-arse workspace for my models. I need to expand somewhere, considering I have about 10 pounds worth of plastic sprues stored elsewhere. Years ago my entire room was a 40k workshop, but that makes for poor organization and lost minis! http://zombiefilehost.com/pics/bd159bd06e7562636484e70cf2b44ed0.JPG Here's a closer shot of some of the models I need to paint. http://zombiefilehost.com/pics/cd5119eefefe5118ee35382ea3b6553e.JPG As you can see, a lot of basecoats and not a whole lot of anything else. The guys I'm looking forward to getting done most are the IC's. Pictured here are a Reclusiarch with a power fist, a jump pack librarian, Lemartes, a chaplain and perhaps most daunting, a Sanguinary Priest. The Priest I'm trying something new with.. I'd like his red to 'pop' a bit, so I basecoated him white instead of my typical spray red. My aim is to get tabletop quality minis, as I've never attempted highlighting etc. and it takes me long enough to finish a model just doing the basics and using ArmyPainter Sprays and QuickShade. Ah-a-nothepsis
Nice! For that extra-nice sheen, try Testers Gloss Coat spray. Just make sure it's under 40% humidity when you do it. Oh, and PS: You can do it!
SevenExxes
I'm liking the look of that librarian.
igotsmeakabob!!
I know that many claim the title of Slowest Painter in the World, and in all likelihood I won't make it... but I'm definitely in the Top 10. Here's the Chaplain. He's the only one I've nearly finished.. now all he needs is some flock and a coat of matte varnish. http://zombiefilehost.com/pics/aa67bd77487bcb30a5330816c5020b29.JPG http://zombiefilehost.com/pics/31977ecec235d437c3fc16b1a7515bdd.JPG
