Pirog
Hi again! This is it. I totally love the Land Speeder Storm-model. It's cool and would fit the theme of my inquisitorial warband very well. However, as Grey Knights can't use it I seek aid in how I can implement it in my army. Worst case scenario I'll just buy it anyway and let it be in the shelf together with the others. But I would love to be able to use it. I don't want to convert it too much, except for maybe weapon swaps etc, as I love the model so much. But do you guys have any ideas of a somewhat legal counts-as? If it needs conversion, as mentioned, I want to keep them few and subtle. You think this is possible? Myxx
You could use then as counts as chimeras. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246030-any-use-of-the-land-speeder-storm-for-the-inquisition/#findComment-2976500 Share on other sites
Stormshadow
That’s a great idea, I have seen IG players pot wheels on them. They looked like something from Halo :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246030-any-use-of-the-land-speeder-storm-for-the-inquisition/#findComment-2976570 Share on other sites
Pirog
Yeah I was also thinking of using them as chimeras, rhinos or razorbacks. How are they sizewise? Both height and length, compared to a chimera? Drachnon
I only have normal landspeeders and they seem to be significantly smaller then a rhino in all dimensions. The Rhino's width equals to the two flaps on the landspeeder. Rhino is about and inch longer and rhino is about 1/2 to 1 inch higher. greatcrusade08
the LSS is significantly longer than regular speeders, its not quite the length of a rhino but with a little conversion could be a suitable counts as Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246030-any-use-of-the-land-speeder-storm-for-the-inquisition/#findComment-2976702 Share on other sites
heretic??ME??
Yeah was thinking on this last year or was it 2010?? A bad 2011 for me!! I can really see a bunch of inquisitor storm troopers riding in on these. If you would, maybe even use scouts as henchman and telion as the =][=. Maybe with stern and Pedro for good old death-watch or maybe Red hunters. ValourousHeart
I use SM Scouts as my IST, as they seemed to be a perfect match for Arbites when paired with my Sisters. They come standard with all the gear that the arbites are supposed to have (carpace and shotguns) and they are not smaller than the sisters as some of the IG models tend to be. The storm is not quite the size of a Rhino or Chimera, but their are very easy modeling details that you can do to adjust for that. The simplest thing you could do is just put the model on a base that is the size of a Rhino or Chimera. As for the minor height issue... that could be easily adjusted for with the base as well, perhaps in the axle height. Hmm... now that I get to thinking about it... oh yes, I have a new project to add to my to do list. Reclusiarch Darius
Storm has kinda bad rules at the moment. Also, it's not a legal option in a Knight/Sister/Henchmen army, so this might be the wrong place to discuss. If they ever get around to a decent Deathwatch supplement (I'd be happy with a WD download or article), I'd hope for a Landspeeder variant. An elongated transport design, with the ability for the heavy weapon guy to hop in the passenger seat at the front and mount his gun on the pintle. Myxx
I was thinking about this the other day and maybe 'counts-as' a razorback? It only holds a handful of guys, and you can use the ravenwing TL Ass.Cannon to represent the turret (or the TLHB or the TLPG/LC if you are feeling up to it...)
