Dominicus
Hey there, I've got a problem; in my school we run a games club that has Warhammer 40,000 as one of the games we run. We have a functional Space marine army. However, many of our Space marines were poorly painted over the years, and now have numerous layers of paint, and it just looks bad; the fine details of the model are barely visible. I wanted to ask here if anyone know of a way to remove paint from the models without damaging the detailing of the model itself. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, so we can get our army up and running under one colour scheme. Cheers, Dominicus Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246034-paint-stripping/ Share on other sites
igotsmeakabob!!
If you're in the US, Simple Green is the generally accepted solution. Soak for a day or two, then clean with a toothbrush under warm water. Metal cleans super easily, plastic is a bit tougher. Ensis Ferrae
From My time on Dakka Dakka, there were Canadian users there who have reported that Simple Green has begun to be sold there. I know, also from the internet, that "Dettol" is an equivalent. IIRC, I used Pine Sol floor cleaner on a Land Raider with some success (as well as breaking down the glue I used, allowing me to assemble it better than originally done) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246034-paint-stripping/#findComment-2976859 Share on other sites
igotsmeakabob!!
Do Not Use Pine Sol, Please. It destroyed some of my models, warped/corroded the plastic.
