the crew are attuned to the vehicles machine spirit and understand more of the mechanicus misteries than "normal" grey hunters. so theresfore it would be mechanicus symbol/ colours. Those are the kind of wolves likely to be inducted into the iron priests. gotta show an affinity with the vehicles then the mechanicus will teach them more.

That's a fair point

Posted in your PC&A thread, but this one is a lot more active. In most chapters, the gunner would actually be from the Armory, not any specific company, and would wear red armor with the left shoulder pad in chapter colors and the admech pad on the right shoulder (in red) with white/black or bone/black as Max_Dammit posted. Space wolves don't have a seperate Armory as most chapters do, all of the vehicles are owned and maintained by their particular Great Company. Gunners/drivers would be from the great company itself and use whatever color scheme you use for your army and probably wouldn't use the cog symbol at all, since only the Iron Priests are trained by the adeptus mechanicus. If they did, you would have a red field for the shoulder pad, and the rest of the armor would probably match your army colors.

Seconded. I'd use another shoulder pad and paint them in the same company colours. I'm sure there is something in the codex. The older codexs had the tanks painted with squad pattens. Most of the tank gunners I've seen are Gray Hunters.

;) thanks for all the feedback guys. cheers for the pic max :D h ave to say loving this forum for all the help. wasnt trying to start any debate just couldnt remember the admech symbol colors. for my own company im going with the idea that all flyers/drivers belong to a different pack hence the use of the admech symbol. long term i plan on a mobile great company for egil ironwolf where the packs would be mobile or armoured eg. 3 man crew for landraider so pack A 3 landraiders crewed by grey hunters pack B 5 land speeders 2 b/claws each and so on (hope to include a baneblade or two with crew of ten to act as individual packs)
