geek66
hail and well met brothers. had the wolf guard boxed set for months now and thought it was about time i got some work done on them, and a blog on here is a good way of keeping motivated for it. anyways without too much chat heres where i'm at so far. first guy i've nearly finished as a tester for the paint job is just astraight forward assault cannon guy. quite happy with the paint job so i've started on the next two guys. going for a twin wolf claw guy and a chain fist dude. although i love these models as they come, i like to try and add my own little touches and try and make them individual. with the wolf claws i really like the pose of the space hulk model with the lightning claws, really threatening. so thats what im going for with him, a menacing static pose, fairly straight forward with a bit of cutting and GSing to re pose the arms. looking through the standard legs i found a set that really fits with out any converting so i think im gonna go with them. i've stuck him together with a bit of blu tac to check out the pose and think it looks ok. tried a few heads bot not sure yet, quite like this one, think it fits the model and pose quite well, but any feedback would be welcome. got started on the chainfist guy aswell. wanted to try and create a feeling of movement with him as if he's charging towards a tank or something. so started with the legs. went for a plain set of legs rather than a pair from the wolf guard set as i felt they would be easier to work with. was quite a big job chopping and GSing it all back together and trying to make them look as if he's running, but without looking too over the top. in my mind termi armour is pretty hard to run in, so didn't want him to look as if he was moving to fast. went for a similar thing with his arms as i did with the claws, a bit of GS to pose them as i wanted, trying to continue the feel of movement, fist raised to strike. Thats as far as i've got so far, claw guy is pretty much ready to paint once i decide on a head. fist man needs a bit of work, some pelts and decoration on the legs, not really sure what yet tho. thanks for reading, hope you like some of what you see. any feedback, comments, ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated. cheers, geek66.
