Father Mapple
Hail, Battle Brothers! I hope to carry the honor of Sanguinus these next few months as I represent the Blood Angels in a campaign I'm running with some local friends. I would love it if some of the readers here could help me vette some of the rules I adapted from the Blood in the Badlands campaign for Fantasy. The goal is to have a campaign where anyone can play anyone, but have the map still matter as well. Here's the link: http://iterativewarhammer.wordpress.com I'm looking forward to the feedback! Olis
Okay, first of all: Good Luck! Now, I've had a look at everything that falls under rules in your link and it sounds fine by me. But then, don't just take my word for it - I haven't run a campaign before. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246340-wish-me-luck-new-campaign/#findComment-2980730 Share on other sites
Father Mapple
Thanks for the feedback, and the well wishes. The players and I are really excited just by the possibility of starting the campaign, so if we're this excited just to start it, I can't imagine what happens when we play. So I'd recommend you try one too! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246340-wish-me-luck-new-campaign/#findComment-2981024 Share on other sites
Gorthag
Looks very cool, I like that you've got something for people to do to stay involved in the campaign even if they can't make a game that week. If you have time you might want to give a listen to the Independent Characters podcast episode 39, they spent most of the episode going over lessons learned from their summer 2011 campaign, and they had a lot of really interesting insight into what worked well and what didn't: http://theindependentcharacters.com/blog/?p=1314 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246340-wish-me-luck-new-campaign/#findComment-2981696 Share on other sites
Father Mapple
Thanks for the comment. I'm in law school, so finding time for me to play is almost impossible, so I need the extra motivation of a campaign to show up, study ahead of time, but still feel involved even if I miss a turn by not being able to play battles. I listened to episode of the ICs just last week, and definitely stole some stuff from there. I also found this amazing blog, http://goingoncampaign.blogspot.com/ that has a ton of resources on it. Apparently Carl, from the IC, helped provide some of the material on there for the author of the blog. Pavement Artist
I'm right in the thick of a Badlands campaign for fantasy at the moment. I'm surprised it all seems to translate so well into 40k. Have fun! Father Mapple
Thanks Krain! I just changed the names of the map racial abilities, and dumbed down some of the map rules for our own, limited campaign experience. The siege rules don't translate too well, but some of the other scenarios would do, I bet.
