Grimnar conversions?

Hey Guys, I'm looking for some inspiration for converting up my own Logan model.

If anyone has done this themselves please do share.

I am especially interesting in how you're doing the storm bolter and if you're doing it regular style or trying for the fist mounted version.

I've been working on one between other projects for awhile. I'm at work and don't have a pic so for now descriptions will have to suffice...

I went with the storm bolter on the back of hand as I felt that is a unique look that sets him out from the other terminators in my army.

I used the left hand power fist from the wolf guard box set and used the storm bolter from the space wolf box. I then used brass runes from secret weapon miniatures to spell RUSS out on each of the fingers.

I used the forgeworld space wolves terminator torso. The one that looks like an older marine.

I created his axe by cutting the head off of a thunder hammer and using two of the axes from the wolf guard box to make the double sided axe. I then used the wolf logos from the landspeeder kit to make the twin head of morkai and to help cover the seam.

I'll try and remember to grab a few photos tonight when I get home to show the few bits I mentioned.

I cheated and used the arm from the failcast Logan on mine. I'm also running a WGTDA using an arm and bolter from the Grey Knights kit.

Pics are poorly lit, smart phone quality snaps I just took.

The body is Forge World, legs from the WGTDA sprue with the crux taken from LG's right leg. The axe was a trimmed down sang guard with the Morkai details taken from the finecast model. Still needs some GS work to bring it all together.

The shoulders on the GK arms need to be filed down to accept the standard pauldrons. Also I think their magazines for the storm bolter don't look as good as the original sculpts. The belt feed in the pic was sliced from a storm bolter on the WGTDA sprue

Beautiful paint job. Good stuff wolf brother! on a side note I still can't believe you used that axe hahahaha jk. You have more guts than me to ever dare and butcher that rare collectors piece :P

Whats the axe from?

It's from an old rogue trader marine from back in the day, I believe. Quite valuable if you can find one in tact now a days.

i believe that axe head is from a diorama belonging to one of the novels

hendrik's right.

And I butchered mine. Still holding onto the axe for that perfect opportunity. And now I've got some dead guardsmen I have to find a use for....

Not really one of the novels, but instead is the LE diorama based on the artwork from the Lone Wolves sequence in Warhammer Monthly (and the later compilation of that story in the graphic novel of the same name). I have one of those dioramas on my workbench right now, and it gets a little bit of attention every now and then. Still isn't finished though... I may have to correct that.

I really didn't like the original model, and I think there should be more beards on wolves generally. the older the wolf, the bigger the beard.

Actually, I'm converting the gw Logan to be my arjac, should work out, hopefully.

Apologies for the crappy pic, all I have available. I need a better camera.
