Yrom Darkhowl - Lord of the Bloodmoon

Mr. Danvers

Recommended Posts

I finally got my hands on my hobby gear again and I've been starting to plan out what I'm missing model-wise.

So here's a pic of my initial draft of Yrom himself, who'll be a Logan counts-as most of the time. Failing that he'll be a Frost Blade TDA Wolf Lord with a combi flamer. As you can see, it's mostly held together with Blu-tak at the moment as I'm still trying out a few ideas.

Any thoughts people?

EDIT: And for those confused after reading my background - I'm doing a pre-disaster and post-disaster model (dreadnought) for Yrom. Means I get a bit of storyline flow across my army too.

I think I just wanted something a bit different I suppose. There wasn't a SW head that I liked for him, so I figured a helmet would look different. My sculpting skills aren't up to doing hair and beards sadly so I might try the Ulrik helmet on him instead, as the great company badge features a wolf skull.

Hmm, seems I'm not the only one who likes the idea of an arm mounted combi flamer. I used one for my WIP Kjarl Grimblood....

Off topic aside, it looks pretty good to me, aside from the comments already made about the head.

My only grip is his frost weapon doesn't look 'wolfy' enough. Maybe if you serrated it or added a few runes on the blade...I don't know.

Anyways, that was my two cents worth.

I am in agreement both regarding the helmet and the frost blade.

One thing I am trying to achieve with my recent models in a more dramatic pose in opposition to the 'legs forward-shoulders forward' look. Maybe a little turning to the torso to achieve a little more realism and fluidity. Think about how your torso looks when you hold the pustulant, dripping head of a Deamon out from your body. It brings that shoulder forward a bit more than the other.

Even a few tails or skulls hanging from the 'spear' would wolf it up enough in my opinion.

And this box contains several awesome heads for wolf lords -----> http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod1040523

End of Line

looks quite good, a suggetion for the frostblade would be to clip the blade off and replace it with the rune etched blade found in the wolf box.......this is what i did with mine :) definatley have him raise the trophy high in the air! look forward to seeing a dreadnoiught for him......
