Death Company Article Gone!

I've been using the article on GW's site to paint up my Blood Angels Death Company and just found out the article is gone. I emailed them and they have no intention of reposting the article. This is very frustrating because i never saved the article or wrote down the color guide. Does anyone have this saved or at least the paints and stages written down? I know it's a long shot but i really could use the help.

Thanks,

David

Yea, all the painting and modelling articles have been taken down. I nearly got screwed on the PCA challenge, as some of the models I was considering pledging I was painting using a similar guide. Frankly, the fact that they took this down with no warning, and that they're refusing to post them means that I will probably be making all my paint purchases from other companies. Even if they are releasing a new line, I still have the old paints to use up, before I would buy any new pots.

And to think that they released a All-paint set for christmas, then took down all the articles for how to use those paints.

GW's normal method for black armour is codex grey then fortress grey extreme highlights. An easier-to-get-consistent method is as follows:

Prime black.

Paint rough highlights in dark grey (I like Vallejo Model Color Black-Grey, but a mix (about 50-50) of codex grey and black will do). Include lower edges.

Paint line highlights on upper surfaces and do edge highlights on upper edges and other edges you want to exaggerate (boot segments, usually, and perhaps the lower edge of the greave).

Go back to the dark grey and tidy the codex grey highlights, use slightly thinned paint and blend them in by layering over.

Go back to black, and use the same technique to smooth in the rough dark grey highlights. Aim to have pure black in the middle of panels. Do not over shade upper surfaces (tops of shoulder pads, helmet, jump packs).

Put final very extreme edge highlights (just the occasional upper edge or corner) with fortress grey.

For the red, Mechrite Red, Layer on Blood red, edge highlight with vomit brown (I use VMC New Wood, I think Vomit Brown is a touch lighter).

Result should look a lot like this:

Hope this helps. Any questions, PM or email (via blog).

There is a small article in WD364 (UK) on painting the Black armour (Page 25).

Unfortunately I didn't see the Tutorial on the GW site so im unsure if it's the same

I was somewhat prepared for GW removing perfectly good content and archived most of the stuff. And always ready to help a BA comrade in need.
