Unforgiven Contemptor

Centurion Tom

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I had a Contemptor dread kicking round not sure what chapter to paint it up as. After a chat with a guy in a store i started thinking about what drew me into the hobby and the mysterious robbed green fellas i was allowed to play with during my first game of 40k (store army I think). So I have decided to dedicate mr Contemptor to the unforgiven. I picked up the codex and a few sprues on ebay to get a feel for the army. Still WIP, so any suggestions would be appreciated, hope to get painting soon.

Oooooh, the potential here....

Excellent looking Contemptor Centurion! Very nice work with the green stuff and the pose is just right - I like it when Contemptors are posed to attack with their secondary weapons... Somehow they are more threatening!

Look forward to see paint on it! ^_^

Thanks for the comments.

@Grimdarkness: yeah not sure how I missed that. In fact there's a few other bits I missed and I could do with going over a few areas with green stuff. Hopefully when I get back from work and before the football. Oh and he will be in the chapter green.

Surely bone is your preferred colour? he has a hood and everything!

seriously though, gorgeous. How difficult was it to alter the pose? I'm thinking of having my one of my mortis patterns kneeling to launch the cyclone missiles but I don't want to ruin such a beautiful model

My logic is that as he's in such an important relic he was high up in the chapter and a member of the inner circle, and was not serving with the deathwing during his interment into the dreadnought. So he's Green

The legs are in bits, so feet, lower leg, knee pad armour, upper leg and pelvis area are separate so I reckon a kneeling dread wouldn't be to much bother.

love the angel on top, love the tabbard and rope but i'm not too keen on a dread having a hood and I'm not too sure about the book. The pose is fantastic though really dynamic and full of motion. I was planning on using standard dreads (MkIV+MkV ironclad/ven/mortis) for my companies but I don't think those models look good in the bone colour. I was thinking of using a Contemptor for my Deathwing. I'm really looking forward to seeing yours painted.

If you need an idea on what to paint him...

If he is a Fallen dread then paint him Black with dark green cloth and blue eyes. the auila should be gold

If he is Dark Angels dread then paint him dark green with bleached bone cloth and gold aquila

Those are my ideas for paint.

also if he's fallen give him skulls and helmets

and if hes a dark angel notraml give him some purity seals and red eyes

Those are my suggestions! ;) :P awesome model, i liek. Have fun painting and fielding that thing
