Gray Knights
Hello all I have being given some Dark Angles fig's can I use them in my army? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246743-dark-angles-can-you-use-them/ Share on other sites
Canis
I don't see why not, this hobby gives a lot of freedom while still retaining some restrictions. It all really depends on your opponent. A lot of people have custom counts-as armies and some have color schemes and themes that may not really resemble whichever Codex their models are based on. So long as the wargear looks appropriate it should be fine. Zincite
The answer is, yes, in most cases. The Veterans and even special characters could be used to simply represent Veterans or special characters from the BA codex. But the catch is you've got to warn your opponent what everything actually is. Using DA veterans as BA Veterans is pretty obvious provided you've given them the correct wargear, but using Asmodai as Special Character would likely confuse your opponent, so just tell them Asmodai's counting as 'whatever' beforehand. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246743-dark-angles-can-you-use-them/#findComment-2986800 Share on other sites
Morollan
I used the robed veteran bodies and legs as BA Vets. They were painted appropriately and had BA shoulder pads from DC and SG boxes so no real issues there. Works really well to represent the Noviate and or the Blood Champion. bushman101
I'm a huge fan of using the bits from the DA upgrade sprue on my BA. All those wings and angelic bits fit well with other BA iconography. And I like to use the robed marines as vets or DC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/246743-dark-angles-can-you-use-them/#findComment-2986857 Share on other sites
SevenExxes
I've used the DA honour guard to make a chaplain, librarian and even some death company. Xenith
Yep, just pick a unit from the Blood Angles codex, arm them in the same way, paint them like Blood Angles. dadieau
With the exception of Dante, Mephiston and the Sanguinary guard my entire Blood angles army is Dark Angles figures. I am really hoping GW will remodel Dark Angles cause while I really like the Librarian the Chaplain isn't so hot.
