Wolf Priest mod WIP

Ok so I am a new painter I have done a little bit but I am more of a player than a painter so have taken no real steps to becoming a better painter until now. I would love opinions of this wolf priest mod I am building off of basic GW parts and maybe find some advice on where I can find a good wolf skull helm for his head...please don't be too brutal I am only a beginner.

Also I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out a way to post pics other than through links... any pointers?

i like the usage of the opposing end of the power axe heads what did you use the axe blades on ?

i only ask because i used the axe blade bits and when i made my wolf priest i used for his weapon and noticed i had the two wolf head parts left over and was planing on making a rune priest so figured what the heck i may as well use these bits to make his weapon.

perhaps you could use the 4th head starting bottem Left -> Right. you will probably have to work it a bit as the half sphere on the bottem might be a bit big.

I took the wolf heads off the back pack that comes on one of the spruces in the GH kits. He needed a wolfy Crozius instead of a normal one I actually haven't decided what to do with the axe head portion.

any helmetless head will do. i put a wolf skull found in the power armoured box on top of my wolf priest his head to make him look a bit similar to this

might i also recommend you give your wolf priest a wash with badab black or the like after you put on the head and painted it? it will darken the armour a bit but bring out all those details inside the armour really well!

Yeah I'll give it a shot I have never tried using any of the washes before.

Hi there!

Nice start! Looking at the way you have cut up bitz to make your Crozius, I am guessing you are quite confident in that line of converting so for the head I would suggest something along these lines:

Wolf Priest Conversion

I tried it on my Wolf Priest and it is surprisingly simple to reproduce. All you need to do is cut out a T-shaped portion from the standard Terminator helmet starting from the top edge of the eye lenses, cutting out the "snout", continuing down to between the targeter lenses (leaving them intact) on the helmet and just glueing a wolf skull into that space using plastic glue. If you are careful with the cutting you won't even need Green Stuff. The pictures on the link above should help!

And also if I may: I would like to second Hendriks suggestion on using a wash. However considering the colours you have already painted on, I would personally use a diluted Devlan Mud wash.

Hope this helps!

OOooo that's my blog that is ^_^

bless you google analytics traffic sources, and thanks for spreading the word puplord :)

it is indeed surprisingly easy.. and IMO looks better when painted - http://excommunicatetratoris.blogspot.com/...st-painted.html ,mainly because you're in control of what's black and what's bone.

I loved the priest - also slightly ;) I loved the AC conversion thread, will help a lot considering I barely ever use HB's and now I know how to use them to create vehicle mounted ACs.

back OT this thread has given me invaluable ideas and things to use to create me own WP :)

Calm down RussBrother. You'll find that wasn't truly off topic. It shows a converted and painted Wolf Priest and there's a lot of SW material on there. Well with a look for ideas. Good work Karitas.

Off topic would be me saying I want a full English and a large tea please. Just an example
