Nothing too special - essentially a kit bash with magnets in the feet & hull to make it stormraven friendly.

Comments always welcome & appreciated.

There's just a square magnet glued to the top of the hull. I'll take a pic if you'd like. I've worked with a few different armature bits and I think it will hold perfectly.

The dread arms are not glued down and I'll fill in that space with green stuff or some shaved plastic or both. So I would agree - very WIP in that regard.

Thanks for the comment. -OMG

The left arm looks like blood talons on a Venerable Dreadnought 'powerfist' on a Furioso Librarian force weapon.

@ OMG: A photo would be primo. I was planning on placing the magnet under the top plate on the dread hull, but leaving it exposed on the bottom of the Stormraven's 'harness' (which I'd build). So actually, a photo of your Stormraven's 'interface' would be awesome. Wow, that almost sounds dirty...

I would consider making one for the right, it looks awesome :)

You'll be happy to know that the right is the standard blood talon fist that comes stock in the fury/DC/Lib dread kit. Have fun with that.

:) I'll share photos but I'll add the *NSFW* notice in the subject line. I'm still playing around with the raven model. I have one now that's a reverse Valkyrie conversion that uses the turret bits from a whirlwind to create the harness. I'm not a big fan of how that model turned out so I'm working with the stock kit now. If it goes to plan I'm going to swivel the wings so it looks like they're being repositioned to hover & banking the position on the base slightly. I'd like to have marines in the body strafing or if I get real ambitious, bailing out. Still gathering my thoughts there.

But, as stated, I've got some plans for the interface and I'll be happy to post those as it comes together.

Cheers gents, -OMG

Here's a quick update plus the pic showing the placement of the magnet in the top of the hull.

Kick-ass Dreadnought, OMG.

And thanks heaps for the magnet photo. It's pretty much what I had in mind. You didn't remove any plastic from the inside surface did you? Just plopped on the magnet? I was worried that the distance between the magnetic surfaces (thanks to a reasonably thick bit of plastic) might diminish the strength, but I'm guessing it's not a problem now.

Good stuff!

I know that the right is standard kit, I was just wondering how difficult it would be to model a right talon in the same manner as the left. Looking at the fist bit, I think chopping the thumb off and re-attaching it to the bottom should do a decent invert job. Then add the talons as you have after some shaving and gs'ing then the jobs a good'un. Now if I could just get hold of the fists (they seem to be quite elusive on bitz sites)

As for the finished dread, great painting OMG, he looks really rather special. I look forward to seeing him hitching a lift on his Stormbus to smite the enemies of the Emperor.
