Meltagun
Here is a Dark Angels Company Master I painted up this morning. The other captain is my old master. I put a beakie helmet and a grey knight marine backpack on the model. http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt181/meltapics09/Dark%20Angels/IMGP0313.jpg http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt181/meltapics09/Dark%20Angels/IMGP0312.jpg
Brother Caliban
I like the models. The paint seems neat and fairly thin. However for a company master I believe more than 3 colours should be used. If this is merely for table top standard then it's ok I guess. Nothing stands out to me except for the base. The static grass is a little crazy IMHO. "I put a beakie helmet and a grey knight marine backpack on the model", Why? Would a banner not be more suitable? Well met brother. Keep up the good work! I went with your idea and added the banner backpack back onto the model and it looks real good. I added a little more color to the model to try to make it look better. http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt181/meltapics09/Dark%20Angels/IMGP0318.jpg
Isiah
He looks cool. But looks as though you could still pick out a few more details to make him really shine. Cheers I
Brother Caliban
Brother Meltagun, I am honored that you have taken such advice on board. The thing I like most about your model is that although the approach appears initially basic - which is far from a bad thing - you have maintained the most most important thing which is keeping your paints thin. The additions look good. The grass on the base however is still too bright I think (I know this maybe the standard static grass but maybe you can ink it (other B & C members may have a better insight into this). I don't advocate you copy the style exactly but look at the official GW scheme here http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...Id=prod1160026a simply to see what makes their models stand out, being that they are painted in a design for photography which should also be a goal in mind for your captain to stand out. Keep up the good work! Caliban.
