chaptermasters
Nice one! How much is an airbrush? I did try using the GW air flamer and propellant but it runs out a lot faster then the spray cans! Brother-Chaplain Kage
Well, if you already have an airbrush, maybe this could save some money, but for those who don't have a set up, you're looking at hundreds of dollars easily for a pretty basic airbrush and compressor. I've had an airbrush set up for some time and I still think buying non-gaming company primer is cheaper. I'd bet that one can of Duplicolor primer would coat more minis than that Vallejo bottle, and might be cheaper depending on where you buy it. winterdyne
I'd say about 30% of the rattlecan primers I've bought have been retired due to a block nozzle, before running out of paint. The beauty of the airbrush primers is that you have enough control for the nozzle not to block. A reasonable airbrush / compressor setup is under £100 in the UK, certainly good enough for priming, basecoating and zenithal work. At £10 a can now, it doesn't really make sense to buy rattlecans to me. This, i think the airbrush/combo was about £70, but i have since replaced the brush itself. so ive spent £100 and have one compressor and 3 airbrushes... Really, you make your money back pretty quick with airbrushes, especially if youre into those spray guns with propellant cans that cost an arm and a leg...
