I just came back from a very nice tournament at our LFGS. We had 3 different battles against 3 different opponents, to bad the turnout was pretty low but with only 8 participants we still managed to get a good day of gaming out of it. First off my Army list and after that the missions and my opponents:

BLACK TEMPLARS

- Marshall w/ LC, Adamantine Mantle, Storm Shield

- Emperors Champion w/ AAC

- Dreadnought w/ extra armour and smoke launchers

- Terminators w/ 2 Assault Cannons

- Crusader squad (7 Initiates and 6 Neophytes) with Melta Gun and Power First riding in a LRC

- Crusader squad (7 Initiates and 6 Neophytes) with Melta Gun and Power First riding in a LRC

- Land Speeder Typhoon

- Land Speeder Typhoon

I now I'm short on Troops but mine pack a punch with the Champion or Marshall attached, let's hope they can get me through the day.

MATCH 1

Pitched Battle deployment

Primary objective was Killpoints

Secondary objective was Table Quarters

Here I faced a Space Wolf army consisting of the following (from head):

- 2 Runepriest with Living Lightning and Murderous Hurricane (only 2 powers used)

- Unit of Wolf Guard spread out over his Grey Hunter Squads

- 2 units of Long Fangs

- 5 units of Grey Hunters of 8/9 models with attached Wolf Guard in a Rhino

MATCH 2

Spearhead deployment with 4 objective placed by players

Primary objective was Table Quarters

Secondary objective was Objectives

This was an interesting match as I faced my first ever Ork army, never did I fight against the Greenskins as both Eldar and Black Templars. Army list of my opponent:

- Warboss

- Mek with KFF

- Nob squad with painboy riding in a Battlewagon

- 11 Boyz in a Trukk

- 11 Shoota Boyz

- 21 Ork Boyz with Nob and BP

- 21 Ork Boyz with Nob and BP

- 21 Ork Boyz with Nob and BP (I actually forgot about this unit in my battle report which I will post later :()

- 3 Big Gunz

- 5 Warbikes

- 3 Deffkoptas

- 2 Warbuggies

MATCH 3

Dawn of War deployment with 5 fixed objectives

Primary objective was Objectives

Secondary was Killpoints

Again Orks? Damn, never ever faced em and now twice in a day. Again my opponents list (slightly inaccurate I reckon)

- Warboss

- Weirdboy

- 3 Killa Kanz

- 3 Killa Kanz

- 1 Deff Dread

- 4 Deffkoptas

- 4 Deffkoptas

- 2 Rocket Buggies

- 10 Boys in a Trukk w/ Nob and Warboss attached

- 11 Boyz in a Trukk w/ Nob

- 21 Boyz with the Weirboy attached

- 21 Shoota Boyz

I'm still finishing up the battle reports with Battle Chronicler so you're going to have to wait till tomorrow for full reports, I'll let you guys guess how this turned out for me :( I can tell you that my MVP was without a doubt my Marshall, he didn't die in any of the matches and the amount of infantry he killed is just insane.

MATCH 1

Black Templars vs Space Wolves

Primary Mission - Table Quarters

Secondary Mission - Kill Points

First of all I have to apologize for the last turns of this match, it was such a big rush with time running out and both of of us finishing up our assaults that from turn 3 onward it's all a big blur  I'll do the best I can.

Deployement

I had won the roll to start first and took the side of the table with the least amount of cover on it, I knew my opponent only had Melta Guns and Power Fists that could penetrate my LRC's so I wasn't to concerned about cover. I did want to shield my infantry squads from his Long Fans as much as possible and the big ruins in the middle and the forest gave me a shield so my infantry could act how the wanted to. I placed my Speeders and Dreadnought on the other side for cover and making him commit forces away from my main force.

My opponent spread out nicely and put one of his Grey Hunter squads straight across from my LRC's, adding a Runepriest to make sure my infantry stayed hidden as long as possible. Seizing the initiative failed.

Black Templars Turn 1

I drove my LRC's straight up the gut, believing in their capability to ignore enemy fire for atleast two turns. The Land Raiders both shot their Assault Cannons and managed 2 kills on the open Grey Hunters unit. On the other side of the table my Dreadnought moved into the forest while my Speeders took some shots and managed to disarm one Rhino.

Space Wolves Turn 1

He drove everything up as far as possible, shooting managed to shake one Speeder and stun the other. Could've been worse I guess ^_^

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Space_Wolves_Turn_1_Space_Wolves.jpg

Black Templars Turn 2

The Dreadnought moved up and fired on the Rhino coming his way but hit nothing but dirt, the shaken Speeder went flat out to get a cover save and survive shooting next turn. My Terminators landed this turn and I decided to put 'em right in the middle of the action, they landed exactly where I needed them! They promptly took out 2 of the Long Fangs. One of my Crusader Squads which is accompanied by the EC got out and charged the Grey Hunters unit with the Rune Priest and decimated them ! The rest of my shooting did absolutely nothing.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Space_Wolves_Turn_2_Black_Templars.jpg

Space Wolves Turn 2

Now the fun started as one of his Grey Hunter squads exited and took up position in the middle, he didn't go to the ruins which surprised me but stayed out in the open. Another Grey Hunter squad jumped out and assaulted my Crusader Squad and they traded blows, both not accomplishing much. His shooting was very effective as both Living Lightning and Long Fangs both destroyed a Land Speeder.

Black Templars Turn 3

My Dreadnought shot and assaulted the Rhino staring him in the face and did absolutely nothing, that became a theme on that side of the table. The second Crusader Squad and the Marshall jumped out seeing an oppertunity for assault, it was brutal but fun with casualties on both sides. The only shooting that was effective was one LRC who killed the last 3 Long Fangs. My termies joined the assault and both my Crusader Squad and another of his Grey Hunter squads was destroyed, the only thing that remained alive was one Black Templar with a Power Fist.

Other turns

Here is were the afformentioned bluriness starts :P

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Space_Wolves_Turn_4_Space_Wolves.jpg

A big melee keeps going in the middle as eventually I chew through 2 full Grey Hunter squads as my Crusader Squad gets killed, when the smoke cleared the only one left standing was my Marshall with full wounds left, he accounted for the majority of the kills there. Both of his rhinos on the table edge get killed by LRC and Termie fire while I moved around for Table Quarters and Kill Point sniping. In the end my Dreadnought lived and outscored his opponents in his Table Quarter thus claiming that one aswell ;)

After we were done and time was called I had secured 3 table Quarters and got a majority of Kill Points thus giving me a 20-0 Massacre in my first match, awesome start! I'll finish up both of the orks matches asap.

MATCH 2

Black Templars vs Orks

Deployement - Spearhead

Primary Objective - Objectives (the four Battle Chronicler logos)

Secondary Objective - Table Quarters

My first ever match against orks and against a very good player aswell. He's one of those guys who doesn't need to optimize his lists to give you a hard time, love playing against those kind of armies.

Deployement

Again I won the deployement roll ;) The terrain had alot of cover so we both put our objective right in there. The hole between terrain were plugged with LRC's and the Speeders and Dreadnought took up firing lanes across the middle. Then the  hit the fan and after scout moves and him seizing initiative the table looked like this.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Deployment.jpg

Orks Turn 1

After seizing his entire army came rolling my way, the biggest hit coming right up the middle. Gunfire only stunned a Speeder but that wasn't the problem. The Nob squad with Warboss and Big Mek jumped from their wagon and promptly initiated the Can Opener Manouvre on my LRC, it blew up. That was a big blow for my first turn, since the LRC hadn't moved yet the S10 autohits from the Boss were just to much to handle. The Crusader Squad with EC came out with just one casualty thank god.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_1_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn 1

Ok, now it's time to strike back and see how many of those dirty Nobz I can pull down with me. Aside from killing 2 out of three deffkoptas and putting 1 wound on the Nob Squad shooting wasn't really effective, assault was however. Since he had 2 IC's in the Nob unit I decided to take advantage of that by charging (and singling out) the Big Mek with my Dreadnought and doing the same with his Warboss and my EC, the rest of the guys piled in and after a very brutal assault both his HQ's, several nobs and alot of BT's were dead. Eye for an eye I guess :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_1_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn 2

He had momentum and he just kept trukking, just the right move. Once again he kept moving up and his Trukk Boys joined the assault on my Crusaders killing them all and the EC. A setback once again but this time it was ecpected, did manage to pull down another nob with me into the grave. His shooting this turn did absolutely nothing with most of the hits just banging of armour or terrain.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_2_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn 2

I was still reeling from the absolute asswooping he was giving me and so far I was nothing more then reacting to him, not good! At first my termies came in and I decided I needed some pressure in his backfield trusting in my remaining forces to mop up the nobz and boys still left. Well, that fell apart when I scattered about 10" straight into a unit, mishap gave my opponent control of them and he put that on the other side of the table, well that's just great isn't it? Shooting was a bit better as I killed some of his Big Gunz, Trukk Boyz and a Warbike. No assault since my Dreadnought had moved back (2 claws still left in the Nobz unit with another boy unit near was to risky for me.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_2_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn 3

Again he drove everything he had close to me and unloaded the guns. Shooting saw one Land Speeder getting destroyed and nothing else, pfew! He didn't assault this turn admitting he was waiting for overwhelming force to arrive and secure the objectives, not so exiting this turn but he did give me some breathing room, let's see if I could make him pay for that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_3_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn 3

Well, paying for it he did :) The Land Speeder got into position for objective countering and shot up the Trukk, the Dreadnought managed to put some more wounds on the trukkboy unit. The biggest hit wasmy second crusader squad getting out and tearing into his big Boyz unit and leaving none standing while taking minimal wounds in return. Shooting saw his Warbike unit getting obliterated by the Terminators who started to move into firing range while the LRC killed his Big Gunz and with SOTM killed some boyz. Now the meatgrinder was starting to roll :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_3_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn 4

He tried to drive his Battle Wagon into my Crusader unit but managed to immobilise himself on the terrain and also blocking his own units from just running up and hitting me on the head. His shooting once again failed him and even the assault on my last LRC did nothing.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_4_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn 4

Now again something unexpected happened, apparently this was the last turn but I had already moved half my army. It seems that we both missed the time call and now I got stuck in an unwinnable situation, I could only do damage control so started on that.

The crusaders, nobz and Trukk Boys started duking it out (the terrain they were in was impassible so I couldn't straight up claim the objective with movement) and the results favored me but somehow his Nobz held out. Didn't really matter since even with a consolidation move I couldn't reach my objective. My Land Speeder went Flat Out and landed on his objective, contesting it while the LRC killed some more orks. The Termies killed the last Deffkopta and that was that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/Black_Templars_vs_Orks_Turn_4_Black_Templars.jpg

End Results

My opponent had 1 objective, I didn't. I did manage to control more Table Quarters and thus reduced damage to just a 12-8 loss. With another turn I would've been able to turn it around alot more the I did but it was an awesome match which is more important to me. Then the last crazyness of the match unfolded itself as we were talking about it. It seemed that he shouldn't have been able to assault my LRC in the first, something we both agreed on but something we also allowed to happen. Our units were 24" apart at the start of the battle, his wagon moved up 13", Nobz disembarked for 2" and could assault 6" for a total of 21". After much discussion we found out that he moved after disembarking, something he checked with me when it happened and I agreed that he could do without looking it up... In the end he said we should change the result to a draw since the impact of that one mistake was just way to big for a match such as this.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

I'm still constructing the last match and I'm done yet so maybe later today or else tomorrow. I can tell you however that it ended in 12-8 for my opponent. I took out most of his army but there was just much green goo clogging my guns at the end and he managed to win on objectives by 2-0 while I beat him on KP by 11-4. In the end I took 3rd place and got back my entry fee in store credit.

MATCH 3

Deployement - Dawn of War

Primary Objective - Objectives

Secondary Objectie - Kill Points

Deployment

Well, it's Dawn of War so for me that means 1 LRC filled with a Crusader Squad and the Marshall, against Orks I want him in CC asap! I deployed in the direction of the two left objectives hoping my opponent would commit most of his forces there, or atleast a significant part. My Terminators went into reserves as usual.

It seems like he took the bait when his biggest Ork Boyz unit went into the ruins with his Weirdboy attached aswell. His Shoota Boyz went in a ruin on the right with a little conga to the objective.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Deployment-1.jpg

Black Templars Turn One

It was Night Fighting during turn one so I just moved everything up as far as possible, the only thing going 6" was my left LRC. I rolled for night fighting and barely made it, then the LRC opened up all his guns and managed to kill 9 orks, nice start I'd say :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_1_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn One

Everything raced on the table going Flat Out or Turbo Boosting wherever it could. His Weirboy unit stormed out of the ruins but when assaulting the LRC his Claw Nob was out of range and thus failed to do anything.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_1_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn Two

Movement wasn't anything special, I merely lined up for shots and got into cover where needed. Shooting this turn was pretty good as I managed to blow up all three of his Trukks thus denying him alot of movement. One of them flew ahead straight ahead towards my left LRC, just great... My Crusader Squad had already gotten out of the LRC at that point and since I had already shot the Boyz squad it prevented me from actually attacking the Warboss unit, I have to remember that next time! Having no other choice then to assault the Weirboy unit I did just that and wiped em out, I consolidated into cover since there was alot of shooty stuff around.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_2_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn Two

A barrage of S8 shots decended on my LRC's but did absolutely nothing but the Killa Kanz managed to kill 2 of my Neophytes. He declared a WAAAAAGH! and assaulted my LRC and the Dreadnought, the LRC got immobilized which sucked but the Dread stood up and killed two of the boys that charged him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_2_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn Three

Both Crusader Squads got into the thick of it this turn as they charged the Deffkoptas on the right and the Warboss unit on the left. Shooting saw me killed two Killa Kanz on the right side but nothing else, considering the amount of S6 and S8 shots I fired that kinda sucked. I killed the Deffkoptas and consilidated towards his Buggies, one of them would have to move around my own unit to get away from them next turn. In the middle the Nob opened up the dreadnought and consolidated his unit towards the LRC, damnit, again bad news. On the left I killed some Orks and the Orks killed some Neophytes but all the power claw attacks on the Marshall were saved.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_3_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn Three

Once again his units moved, the Buggies tried to get away from the crusaders squad but I saw that next turn I could assault them and wipe them out. That would give me alot of options. The remaining Kan and one buggie shot my LRC, immobilized., that ment the Nob could charge in there with a decent difficult terrain check and get autohits. On the left side the combat went completely my way as I killed all the Defkoptas and most of the normal Orks and 1 Warboss, one Ork ran away in fear.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_3_Orks.jpg

Black Templars Turn Four

Finally my terminators came in, the problem was finding a somewhat safe place to land which there wasn't. I absolutely need them on the table since their fire power could mean the difference in this fight so deep struck them on the middle objective. They fired 18 shots into the Shoota Boys and killed absolutely nothing... The Crusaders on the right killed both the buggies but since they're vehicles you don't get a consolidate move out of it :( Shooting this turn did absolutely nothing, both my LRC's and the Land Speeders couldn't hit or wound the broad side of a barn.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_4_Black_Templars.jpg

Orks Turn Four

Time was called, finish up your turns and call it! I was surprised and so was my opponent, neither of us heard any warning and later it turned out there was no warning. My opponent apologized since he could now do whatever he wanted without fear of retaliation. He avoided shooting at my Crusaders Squads so they couldn't Rightious Zeal their way onto an objective. His Killa Kanz and Deff Dread assaulted the LRC for fun, he knew he wasn't going to win on KP so he just wanted to kill it for fun. They did ofcourse since it was immobilized and at the same time they contested the objective on that side leaving. He also assaulted the LRC on the right, got one penetrating hit of and boom went he LRC. This ended the game with 2 objectives for him and one contested, KP ended up something lik 11-4 so I won that one easily.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/lockdar/Warhammer/BT_vs_Orks_11-2-2012_Turn_4_Orks.jpg

In the end I'm glad with the third place I got, I also enjoyed the matches against the Ork hordes noticing that I can go chainsword to tusk with them and come out on top. In both my last matches the time killed me since it gave my opponents a small advantage although I have to admit that with some better play here and there I could've avoided those situations. I'm looking forward to more matches with my Templars.

I use Battle Chronicler, just surf to http://battlechronicler.com/ and download it for free. I do wish there were more artwork option (like those in Vassal) but I work with what I have

Yeah, I'll be downloading that when I get home. The unfortunate part is, that's 8 hours away!

Thanks for hooking everyone up with this. Hopefully more easy to read/understand batreps will come of this!
