Brother Valerius
Kind of a very random PC&A question. My dog grabbed my green stuff off the kitchen table, and I came upon her a while later chewing on it. I don't know if she actually swallowed any, but is it reasonably safe? Dogs, man. One day I'll understand the "I should chew on EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD" mentality. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247045-how-not-good-for-you-is-green-stuff/ Share on other sites
puck
I'd say a lot of it depends on how much (if any) she swallowed. The company that makes it should have a complete toxicity sheet on their website. Watch her to see if shes having trouble going to the bathroom for a week or so. That's what I'd do. cathar the great
Did a quick googling on "Green stuff toxic" Found this guy on heresy-online: My dog did just the same thing a while back except she ate the whole yellow tube, everything. I kept an eye on her and she seemed fine and several months later still no ill effects (she is retarded but was like that before she ate modelling putty!). Union.Jack
http://www.highsidechem.com/safety/grnstuffmd.html Here is the MSDS (Material Saftey Data Sheet) for Green Stuff. It says that ingestion causes burns. Judging by this I would print it out and take your dog to the vet just to be sure. puck
I think it'll depend on if she ate both the blue and yellow parts as thats when they'll react inside her. I'd follow union jack's idea print out the MSDS and take her in. BOBMAKENZIE
It says that ingestion causes burns. To be fair the MSDS also says skin contact causes burns..and thats possible but I've never seen it happen to my hands. But a vet trip is probably the best idea. That's more than likely because when mixed it does create an exothermic reaction, which can (if you mix enough) cause it to give you a burn. Usually, these are all worst-case-scenarios (WCS). Superglue also has an exothermic reaction when it goes off (and will cause a burn - usually from either a 'lot' of it going off in one location, or a smaller amount combined with an accelerant. You can get a cotton ball to combust with just superglue, for example). Take it to a vet. Maybe he can give it an injection to stop it just chewing on stuff (or breathing, crapping on everyone's lawn and generally being dog-like).
