RagingHeroes Cyberwolves

Greetings from Holy Terra. Wolf Blade MaveriK reporting: In my exile I have managed to come across these beautiful Cyberwolf/Thunderwolf sculpts. Have a look and discuss, as I haven't seen it posted here at the Fang yet, well besides on crack book (Facebook). Please excuse this post as I am writing on my iPhone.

I like the heads. I like the poses (aside from the Leader wolf, who looks like he's leaning up to get his chin scratched). But two things bother me about these wolves:

1) All their legs are cybernetic. Not most. All.

2) They look weedy and anorexic about the torsos.

Now, depending on what other fits you kitbash them with, or some gratuitous greenstuff bulking about the center, these concerns could be alleviated, but I wanted to see if I was the only one who noticed these concerns, and if anyone else has thought about kitbashing them to surmount them, and if so, what they were thinking in terms of prospective kits to, uh, bash.

The faces look vicious. Which I think is really, really good. I actually like the shoulder armor, too. Sort of unifies with the power armor's bulked up pauldrons. The bodies, though...spindly.

Tails are pretty good, although one looked off...more torch than tuft, if you pardon the image.

I think the faces are the biggest problem with most other TW models, either they look stupid or they look like a puppy. These are the first that really look vicious and I like that.

I'm really thinking about ordering a pack of these.

Great find, these are certainly a different look to most of the other thunderwolves style resin kits out there.

I'm personally not a fan of these. I'm all for a cybernetic wolf alternative model, but these models make me think that the designer spent a little too much time playing Final Fantasy games, from FFX onwards in particular. It's that weird organic/metal look. Just not to my personal taste. The price tag isn't fantastic either.

But each to their own eh? ;)

I think I'd use them if I was creating Egil Ironwolf's GC as it would fit the fluff of overly cybernetic wolves in tow and may get a couple to use as an Iron Priest's Thunderwolf - I do wonder if anyone is likely to know how malleable these are, thinking that you could cut the legs off GSfu the bit left underneath and then use them as simple cyber-wolves for the packs, methinks they would work well, then you can simply use large 'normal' wolves as the base fenrisian ones - or simply use these as an Iron Priest's entourage as those that go with him would deffo be more machine than wolf.

The heads look like traditional Japanese dragons... They also look too skinny, and not furry enough...

I am not a fan of these models.

Of course, I am the only human being who actually likes the Fangir sculpt and the Wolf Helmets...what do I know??!!

End of Line

looking at their YouTube feed, and their manticore sample...
I can understand why some people here might think these cyberwolves look different from the Grimdark universe of 40K. From watching that video, I'm guessing it's more the artist interpretation. At least from what we're told, the mold and design (3D printing) and resin itself will be top quality. It's an interesting concept and a good 3rd party option for us SW players.
