BogdanTheBlessed
Hello folks, As stated in my post "I am new and Religious" in the Chaos Ascendant forum section, i am new to wargaming and I've chosen the Sanctified as one of my forces. As Chaos allows so much diversity, having Marines, Daemons and Guard (Traitor) I decided to adopt twenty Bloodletters of Khorne I will use for the Sanctified as Summoned Lesser Daemons or whatever our next Codex for Marines will bring. I do wish however to use tham as what they were intended to be, Bloodletters using the Daemons Codex. Now I ask, whom should I summon from the Warp to lead them? I am NOT against Undivided army and while Mono-Khorne might seem fluffy I realize having elements for each role in the army is crucial. I am considering Heralds of Khorne and Tzeentch and a Bloodthirster. Another thing I plan to use are Seekers of Slaanesh and Daemon Princes (3 of them), Juggernauts and Horrors. Input is welcome! May the Dark Gods guide you! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247128-sanctified-player-looking-for-advice/ Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Really the only semi-weak parts of the dex are the fast attack. Even then though compared to other codex books daemon fast attack isn't bad. Really everything you mention can be used effectively. I love my bloodcrushers, only bad part about them is they're SOOOOO slow. When they do catch up though almost nothing can stand against them. Heralds are generally not all that great. Personally though I love skulltaker (he's a badass). Love my thirsters as well they're near unstoppable in CC. Playing a multi-god army isn't unfluffy really. If you read the daemon codex they've got quite a few examples of bloodthirsters and lords of change leading daemonettes, bloodletters, nurglings, etc. The most challenging aspect of this army I think is the method of deployment. It's far different from what I'm used to with Codex: CSM and a few other codex books that I play. It's also a bit different from MEQ so that can take some getting used to. Melekharn
My fiance plays as daemons, focusing mainly on Khorne and Slaanesh. Unfortunately, these two gods are incredibly combat orientated. This isn't neccessarily a bad thing, but you have to carefully drop them in and hope they don't get shot up too badly. A bad scatter can ruin you're day even further! As much as I hate the Nurgle models, I've found her army works better if she is able to deploy plaguebearers in the first turn. Assuming she rolls badly for scatter, they are a very resilient unit, and allow you to bring in those hard hitters with more accuracy assuming they survive a turn of being shot at. Couple them with a unit of horrors or flamers, and you've got a solid first wave. Use the plaguebearers to absorb enemy fire, the horrors/flamers to inflict some first turn pain, and then charge in on the second turn after bringing in your hard hitters. Charging with your remaining bearers and horrors will (hopefully) save your bloodletters and daemonettes from a turn of shooting and allow you to charge in your third turn. The biggest issue she's had with daemons is deployment. In order to get the units she likes into combat fast, she is stuck with two choices. 1: Deepstrike in the open, hope to survive a turn of shooting and then run in for the kill 2: Deepstirke behind/in terrain, risk the scatter anyways, and then hope to hell you survive materialising in a ferrocrete wall. The plaguebearers at least give you a decent chance of surviving option 1. Brother Ambroz
Option one is what I ususally go with. Doesn't always go that well either. Daemons take quite a bit of playtesting to get used to their deployment. Azathoth3000
I have found, playing a Khorne only demon army, that aggressiveness is the way to go. I usually deepstike my models within 12"-16" of the enemy, not only to increase your chance of a charge, but it increases the freak out effect. It is VERY risky, but when has the Blood God ever been afraid of being too risky... Brother Kovash
My friend plays a heavy Khorne list, with a few Fiends of Slaanesh thrown in for good measure and Kairos Fateweaver to lead them. Allowing rerolls on failed invulnerable saves has saved daemon armies more times then could ever be recorded.
