HH- Fear to Tread

ANCIENT FALOR

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to post a few things James Swallow mentioned concerning the novel.

1) there will be word bearers in novel.

2) the Red Angel will be explored.

3) Amit, founder of the flesh tearers, plays an important role in novel. as well as other successor characters.

4) the story will cross many worlds in the Signus cluster besides Signus Prime

5) Roldoron will also play a major role.

6) The BA libarians will have plenty to do.

Maybe the Word Bearers convert a couple of Blood Angels Librarians to Chaos who have to be put down by the loyalists lest they bring dishonour to the Blood Angels probably not but then again I reckon it could be awesome.

That sounds good.

I'm really looking forward to this novel, I fear it's not going to be as good as Know no Fear (simply because Swallow is not as good a writer as Abnett in my opinion). But I still feel the whole thing is completely open.

Another thing I fear is how the action in the novel will be. Flight of the Eissenstein had okay action but far from what I would want. Nemesis was a bit better.

Please James, you owe us all a decent Blood Angel novel after the crapfests you have given us. Fear to Tread does sound interesting from that list.

I actually like the Swallows Blood Angels, canon/fluff conflicts aside. They give the Astartes a face that is rarely seen. Granted, he actually manages to "humanize" them, but I think that it adds more flavor to them.

Can't remember the name, but it was the other captain that accompanied Sanguinius at Nikaea - along with Raldoron.

Edit: Hopefully, we'll see why Raldoron was said to be as famous as Abaddon among the Space Marine Legions. At Nikaea Ahriman didn't recognize him, he described the Blood Angel as having a white "face of a killer".

In "Horus Rising" (I think), when Sanguinius joined Horus over Murder, Raldoron accompanied the Primarch, identifying the slain, but nothing special as mentioned about him. It was ADB who made him a legend - or rather, stated him to be so - when he wrote that Sevatar was as famous as Abaddon or Raldoron, in "The First Heretic".

This is the Red Angel

A Daemon possessing a Blood Angels Space Marine's body/corpse.

On a personal note, while he is indeed called so, I very much hate the title Red Angel for Angron. The World Eaters Primarch has nothing about him that either links him to angels or makes him a twisted parody of one. He's as down-to-earth (bad choice of words, but it changes nothing) as they come. But I guess that's subject to opinions, so...

Where is that picture from? It looks strangely familiar and yet unknown :D

I completely agree with you, every time i read red angel i think of Sanguinius. I dont know why they implemented it on Angrod, one would think of red bucher/devil as a better fit

Thanks for the info, definitely interesting stuff.

The Successor part did make me cringe a little as I had a brutal vision from the past Blood Angels books, something that would make even Talos cry. I'm affraid Swallow will make Sanguinius look like a chump when compared to his own home-brewn future Chapter Masters.

Buuut anyways, we all know the past BA books weren't that great so I'll leave it at that.

Hopefully this will rock! ;)

When you're a Primarch, I imagine you're free to choose any title for yourself except for Warmaster or Emperor. Maybe ol' Angy picked it just to ruffle Sang's feathers :P

Rofl!!! nice one!!

I just really hope Swallow brings his A game. Loved 'Flight of the Eisenstein', but the Blood Angel novels were so meh

Loved flight of the eisenstein as well, tbh i didnt expect to like it as much as i did.

I gues by the cover of the novel it will say how Sanguinius got his back broken by the demon??
