Getting super glue off new resin models

So last night my room mates and I played a game and as I was getting set-up one of my new resin models decided he wanted to spend some time on the floor. In his attempt to escape my grasp he also decided he wanted to be free on the base he was on and tried to make a mad dash under the sink. Luckily I am quicker than him and was able to stop his retreat.

So as I was trying to secure him back onto his base the bottle of super glue I had decided to explode all over my hand and all over the model. Now he has a fresh coat of super glue covering the whole left side of his body.

Has anyone had to remove super glue yet from a new resin model and if so what did they use to get it off.

Thanks

I seem to remember reading somewhere that superglue becomes brittle if left in the freezer. I don't think the cold will harm the resin.

Ideally, you should be able to freeze the model and then carefully chip the glue off in pieces with minimal damage to the sculpt.

Superglue remover will work wonders. If you know of a store that stocks a line of CA glues, which most hobby/hardware stores do. They will have CA remover.... baring that acetone will do it as well. Just work it into the glue with an old paintbrush.

SO I finally decided I would either ruin the model or see if non-acetone nail polish remover would work. So I slowly applied it to a small area where the glue was and I watched it eat the glue away and the outer layer of paint but did in no way shape or form ruin the model. I then spread it over the rest of the glue and it worked like a charm. I applied it with a small paint brush and it took about 3 coats but I got all of the glue off and now I just need to base coat again.

In conclusion nail polish remover works if it is NON-ACETONE!!
