A bit of fun; Disciples of Volta (and maybe others too)

After building three Deathwatch Marines for an RPG, I found myself with 7 extra shoulder pads. So I went through my bits box and mashed together a bunch of marines of various chapters, but realised I couldn't pick a fitting chapter for couple of them. So I came up with a new one for one, maybe somewhat influenced by my own field of study, and maybe a bit humorous...

The Disciples of Volta

Founding: 21st

Geneseed: Knowledge Lost

Specialty: Technology

What the Imperial records can reveal is that the Angels Omega were a fleet based chapter that was lost shortly after its founding. At the waning years of the 41st millenium the chapter suddenly returned, informing the authorities that they had changed their name to Disciples of Volta. On a long lost colony they had found the ancient teachings of Saint Volta and his apostles Ampierre the Fierce, Sacred Om of Omega and Far Day the Keeper. With these teachings they had built a whole new cult of Technology where every single marine of the chapter was technologically adept to great degree. When the Tyranids came, the Disciples of Volta emerged with their overcharged plasma weapons and lighting cannons. These were their salvation, for without them their heresy would have been deemed too great to tolerate by both the Ecclesiarchy and Adeptus Mechanicus...

So there, as said earlier, don't take this too seriously. It's a small blurb to explain one mini I put together at random with a techmarine torso ^_^

EDIT: So a background for another one:

Red Skulls (or maybe Crimson Skulls)

Founding: 21st (this one too :))

Geneseed: Probably Sanquinus

Specialty: Stealth and Heavy Firepower

Chapter Master: Prospero

The Red Skulls have a very nasty and unique mutation in their geneseed; they secrete a bloodlike substance through their skin, that hardens to form a crimson crust on them. Due to this unnerving visage, called the Masque of the Red Death, they tend to isolate themselves from other chapters and humans, and never take off their helmets when forced to work with others. Seeing one unmasked is such a horror to normal humans that very few survive the terror itself. On their homeworld it is a tradition for young boys brave enough to enter a forbidden mansion on the outskirts of the capital at midnight. Most never return, and those who do are changed forever. They tell of a great honor that has been bestowed upon them, and by the end of the week a small ship carrying the fabled Star Knights come to pick up the boy. Thus begins the boy's testing for suitability, for they have passed the first test, that of the willpower to withstand unimaginable terror.
