So I sold my old Warlord titan prototype and went on to build a newer version with a resin cast head. As most titan fans, I absolutely adore Imperius Dictatio and I have made a couple of attempts in the past but, having acquired a lot of experience in the titan building process, I decided to build a newer version.

I will base the painting scheme on this picture, and I will try out some NMN techniques as the large surfaces are ideal for this imho.

Tommorrow morning I will start off priming it black and the applying some lighter grey tones to prepare the surface.

So here we go...

The titan looks multiple levels of awesomeness. However when I look at the pose my mind keeps yelling "jazz hands". =D

lol

Now I will never be able to look at him the same way :wallbash:

Can't unsee... :D

Good job on the titan, Kodopitharos, pretty good rendition of Hekate's beast. :)

Plating complete,

I applied some non metallic metal using exclusively chaos black, bleached bone and a hint of skull white.

The leg plates are putting me a bit off so I will do those again.

Next part will be the various gears and symbols using NMM based on brown, to achieve a bronze/dark gold effect.

C&C welcome!

I eventually ended up doing the entire thing with NMM techniques. It didnt work great everywhere, but still - I like the cartoony paintjob

Just the 2 turbo lasers to go so after that I will post this in the Hall of Honour

Again any C&C is very welcome

Very nice. How easy was it to construct and does it break apart easily for transport/storage (unless it's going on your mantlepiece)?

Construction now takes me approximately one week. The torso, head and weapons are all detachable and come in a custom made polysterene secure box.

The entire package (including the packaging that is) weighs a bit less than 6 lbs.

This one is mine :teehee: However, once I start constructing the next generation titans, which will have resin cast platings with tons of detailing, I will probably sell it.

  • 2 weeks later...

When are the next generation Titans expected to go up for sale Kodopitharos? I decided I'd finally make the plunge and buy one of your Warlords yesterday after my friends declared an arms race by fielding an Apoc list with 16 D weapons against my 14,000 point tank heavy list yesterday! I lost about 5,000 points turn one alone, and then it didn't help I lost another 3000 points of my Grey Knights to deepstrike mishaps turn 2 :)

If the next gen of Titans are going to be alot more detailed however I may wait a little while.

Sorry for taking that long to reply - I was out for some time.

The Titans are evolving slowly but steadily. Resin parts have already been added, and I am adding more resin bits in the coming weeks. However I have come to a stall due to some mishaps with the CnC I was using which means that I won't be able to build any new titans soon. The only project that I can currently work on is a Banelord prototype.

By the way, 16D weapons is a lot even for 14,000 points. A decent workaround is to bid 30 minutes for deployment and take the Careful Planning strategic asset leaving everything in strategic reserve. Most people dont expect an all reserved apocalypse army . This way you can save yourself 1 turn of D weapon death .

@MordentHex

You are absolutely right. I've seen full resin titans that topple gaming boards :). The resin parts I am using are in essence sheets of detailing which keeps the weight down. The only solid resin part is the head which weighs 160 grams.

Also, here is the banelord WIP
