Pall Ironbear
This model was meant to be my reward for completing my great company and Fellblade, but I'd been working on them so much that I needed a distraction. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/470e13e1.jpg Not quite happy with the "I wish I could fly" pose now, but as he is pinned and glued I'm not going to risk changing the left foot now. And stupidly enough, even though I'd figured out wich lower leg to use on each side and marked them, it didn't stop me putting them on back to front :P http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/bf338f9e.jpg the pose is meant to signify the fluff about the SW Contemptors being excessively savage in battle. Mods are limited to a FW flamer in the claw, a pelt or two and some etched brass. Pall Ironbear
I'm trying out a lighter grey scheme for my Wolves, the original darker scheme was just too labour intensive, and I still have 6000points worth of minis to finish. So completely ignoring that I started to lay some colour on the model. Just starting to highlight and use washes. Also this is my first attempt at OSL/Battle damage/weathering. Pics are from a smart phone, so it helpfully covers up my lack of skill with a paint brush. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/1e377e48.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/76cf70f8.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/85976acd.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/ff5df0c0.jpg I also took some pics with the flash on, which makes the OSL work....just a shame it needs the flash. The knee pad is going to be the pack marking, rather than light thrown from the plasma. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/05ecf6d7.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/1f367c45.jpg All c&c welcomed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247446-ancient-wolf/#findComment-2996050 Share on other sites
Russ Brother 92
I like it but the helm looks too bright to me, although I rather like the light stone grey for the armour :D I never saw the "I wish I could fly" more that he was about to curb stomp the lil corsair ^_^ - are you able to lower him some so that his left foot isn't off the ground and he's not floating? Pall Ironbear
I think I overdone the damage on the helmet, which is making the blue brighter. I'll try some "talent in a bottle" blue washes to darken it up. The floating pose is another little mistake when I took the latest photos. I'm painting the base and the dread seperately for the time being, and the longer pin is for ease of handling. I'll fix it to the base when I start on the weathering, then I can use the weathering powders to tie them in better. Thanks for the comments.
