What is the Space Wolves Pack 'no neck recess' torso for?

I'm building up my first squad from the Space Wolves Pack box and enjoying all of the great options that come with it, but there is one that I don't understand

There is a torso front that looks like it might be HQ oriented that has some celtic looking scroll work on the front of the chest piece and it has no neck/head recess like the other armor fronts. There is a Blood Claw built with this chest on the back of the box.

Does any one know what head should be used with this chest piece or why it has no neck socket? What good is a torso with no neck recess? I must be missing something obvious.

Thanks!

The torso I'm referring to is in the center of the top row in the picture below:

Yeah the guy with the 4 long beard braids has no neck, so I just used him. I think there might be a few other heads that fit on that torso, but you can always just shave off the neck nub of the heads you want to put on there.
Yeah that torso is designed for making wolf scouts

Not really as you're "supposed" to use Space Marine Scout bodies for the Wolf Scouts. The 5 Scout heads provided on the sprue fit perfectly on "stock" SM Scout bodies. You can recognize the Wolf Scout heads as they have the "stubby" little neck (not flat and not the full neck on the other), and the "commlinks" on them.

To the OP, that torso fits the following 3 heads on the sprue, all of which have no neck:

...I thought they where for sitting in my bits box for all of eternity...

I only like the twin-braided head option, and yes the two pieces fit together very poorly.

These heads are the correct ones to go with the torso asked about by the OP.

Please keep in mind, the heads are not sized to seat very well on the torso; the beards and pony tails from each head separately result in the proper placement by making certain they just catch the edge of the torso plate ring. Seated correctly, they should look like a great deal of hair is covering the neck gap. I myself ran into this issue the first few times I used that torso and head combination system. Since this is not easy to translate, just know this: it will look "right" when done properly, as opposed to looking wrong, or off somehow.

Thanks for the reply's everyone - I appreciate the info. It's been a huge help.

I'm surprised that I didn't notice those flat neck heads before. Now that I see them they are obvious. I was avoiding the bare heads for my Grey Hunters and that's how I missed the flat necks the first time around.

Thanks again!
