Runepriest2007
So, my son and I wandered into our local GW today to see what was left of all the new SW toys. They had plenty of the boxes, but only 3 of the Arjac blisters. I asked the manager where the other blisters were, and he said that they have to be ordered through mail order (because of the anticipated high demand). Anyone else encounter this? Runepriest yup my store had loads of these people had pre-ordered and sold out every new space wolf model by 1pm on the first day of sale. What can you say they they were wise to pre-order The store didn't sell out of them..............they were never sent. The manager was told that if people want the blisters, then they have to be ordered through the store. The reason being, they were supposed to be so popular, store inventories wouldn't be enough. The Rose Princes
got my TWL... the outside of the sprue being melted & bent up all to hell, but the model seems intact. the only fail is that the frost axe shaft is bent left about 30 degrees. that's fine since i'm gonna give him a thunder hammer anyway! Runepriest Are there that many closet Space Wolf players out there? Or did they think the new minis would cause that many more to jump on the pain train with us? TBH, as far as I know, only my son and I play wolves. I don't remember anyone else who plays wolves. It might have something to do with a supposed "letter" to the GW stores from HQ warning them about potentially more mis-cast models <shrug> Runepriest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247568-march-sw-releases/page/12/#findComment-3007490 Share on other sites
GalaxyChief
There are not that many here either.... but then it seems the armies played here are evenly split.... a few bugs, few grey knights and so on. Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
I just had a conversation with an Ultra player who is converting to SW because of this new wave of models. I think that they are drawing us some attention indeed!! bicentenialman97
Just got Arjac Rockfist and Thunderwolf Calvary built will post pics asap The new TWC was easy but the lack of full weapon choices for them is problematic, I ended up using my wolf claws left over from the WG Termy pack and the shoulder pads on the arms were the only big issue, nothing a little GS wouldn't fix. Size is little to no prob b/c of the size of the wolf. I prefer 2 part Apoxie Sculpt over GS though, I am not sure what color primer I should use my end product idea is a artic wolf color scheme, any thoughts? Brother Mjollner
It's my understading, that the cyber wolf, the standard bearer, and all the items redone in failcast were direct order items and would ship slower than an independant stores normal order. Normal order uses fedex and direct comes in the normal mail. My independant store in the Boston area had their shipment on friday of Arjac, TWC, Wolf Lord, F.wolves, everything else was expected on Mon/Tues. The store had gotten in 6 Arjac's, every single one had his hammer all bent to hell. I did take one that was "the least bent" and will attempt to restore it after a warm bath, if it doesn't work i'll call GW for a replacement. Wulfebane
, I am not sure what color primer I should use my end product idea is a artic wolf color scheme, any thoughts? Depending on what tone of grey you want, warm, neutral or cool. For a warm tone, like a cream colored arctic, I'd prime with dheneb stone, then drybrush with bleached bone/skull white mix. For neutral, I'd prime with codex or fortress grey, depending on how dark you want it. Then drybrush fortress grey/skull white mix. For cool, I'd prime with astronomicon grey. This would probably be the only one where I wouldn't dillute the skull white, but I haven't tested to know for sure. Probably due to extra customer service time and needing at least ten models to properly complete the orders once replacements have been sent. Freman Bloodglaive
I suppose I'll have to get some "legit" Thunderwolves, but I think I'll just convert a lord from the plastics than waste my time on the resin. mactire
Just want to say that if any of you run Harald Deathwolf's Great Company or are considering it, I would highly recommend picking up this month's WD. In addition to some neat painting guides and the like, Phil Kelly has written some unique fluff for Harald. Yeah, looks like we have two more WLs(Harald and Morkai) now with a little more recent background (not sure about 2nd ed). It's great to be a wolf ;) Where did the extra background on morkai come from ?? Valerian
What is this warm bath trick that you speak of? Specifically, the trick is to draw a warm bath, add some soap for relaxing bubble effect, pour a glass of wine or beer, or perhaps mix a cocktail. Then, the Space Wolves player sits in bath and drinks preferred beverage while stress from having blown money on poorly-cast models washes away. Try it; works almost every time, Valerian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/247568-march-sw-releases/page/12/#findComment-3010194 Share on other sites
Godhead
I'm pretty disappointed. I pre-ordered my TWC and I still have yet to receive them. I think I'll call customer service again tomorrow, to what purpose I'm not sure.. tempted to just cancel my order as I could have had them 5-6 days ago.
