I can't believe they repackaged that old crappy rune priest in TDA.

Ugliest term ever.

I'm I one of the only people who liked the model?

It was based on one of the original metal box set terminators. Just a few bits added on so not even a SW specific sculpts originally.

That's where you are wrong sorry mate. It was released just after the original metal Wolf Guard in TDA which were re-sculpted but based on the original metal generic TDA. If you look at the original WG they are a lot more detailed then their predecessors.

Besides, I know this to be the case because I asked Jes about it many moons ago at a games day. :D

The only good thing about stuff being recast in resin is that it will be easier for me to chop up for the bits I want/convert.

Very true

I can see ulrik being popular for helm

I 'm considering doing a more dramatic pose for ragnar which will be easier now

Yeah I was glad as well......until I couldnt ever field them in a game after the independant gaming club closed. Apparently even when GW don't bother to make the models, you can't use non-GW items..... ;)

Sadly my Mythicast wolves will now either remain on my shelf collecting dust, or I might sell them on to recoup a bit of the cash.

Sounds like you need to educate them on Retail 101 - "the customer is always right". ;) Do you live in a small town with few choices of gaming venues?

Funny. I find that 80% of the time the customer is either wrong at trying a fast one ;)

Hey, I'm an auto tech by trade. My customers are around 95% wrong - but ultimately, the to guy upstairs who's job it is to keep his business running profitably they are "right" and they get what they "want". :)

Failcast....."When in doubt ,Hack it about !"........

Never forget though, you are paying over the top metal figure rates for a product who's raw materials are now WELL under a tenth of the price of the original metal. G.W's greatset "Screw you coup".(Very few people realise that, loads of complaints over the casting quality, but it's the use of the raw materials a lot of folks have failed too see is the greatest retail rip off.)

I'm going to go against the grain here, and state that these "wolves" look more like anorexic coyotes than wolves. In my personal opinion, I don't think any of the designers/sculptors at GW have even seen a real wolf.

No offense meant, but I have to wonder if you've ever seen one up close yourself.

I, however, have. I've owned several hybrids (all were mixed with either Husky or Malamute) in my lifetime, one of which was 95% wolf and let me tell you, GW NAILED what a real life one looks like.

Since I can't post pics without having a site to link them to, and no practical experience with the image system of this forum...

Please try a search for images of, "Dances with Wolves White Socks"

Not sure if the animal cast in the movie was a full-blood wolf, but, at least to these models, looks relatively close to me.

But as soon as you compare GW's Thunderwolf model to a "real life one" you beg the question - how does such a scrawny, little thing carry a ton of genetically modified, super-human, nuclear-powered, adamantium armored Space Marine? ^_^

Because Russ has told them to! :P

I love my old school TDA Rune Priest...

New TWC... ^_^

I am going to get the TWC to mix with the juggerwolves I am half way through converting. Aside from the new wolf/foxes I notice other plastic so I will save the money/spend on the Tyranids as that is my other army. Even avoiding finecast I think this will hurt my wallet. :(

I know there will be sprues in the TWC boxes but I do not see a power fist, I do hope they come with one I can use else where.

No offense taken..............and I also have owned wolf hybrids.

As I said before, it is my opinion, no one elses, about these sculpts. Some people love them, and some don't.

I give credit to GW for finally releasing these models, but they aren't for me. Maybe my mind will be changed once I see the sculpts up close and personal......we shall see :(

Because that scrawny little thing has a super-dense, adamantium-reinforced skeletal structure and combat-enhancive stims pumped through its veins! OMG SCIENCE?! Oh, wait.. what?? These creatures are 40000 years in the future, are from ANOTHER planet.. oh yeah, and are fictional?!?

Just get over the impracticality. It happened. Deal. Or go play Chaos and try to explain that mess.

On the lord note I was sceptical because of the price but I love the wolf, I will need to remove his head though. I may be a heretic in preferring my wolves with helm, mostly.

Boy, those fenrisian wolves are going to look silly wearing helmets.

Like watching a cat lick a prawn cracker. You know you should help but you don't want it to end.

this absolutly made my day LOL

if only it weren't so big this should get siged...

...by everyone! :D

So it occurs to me that the very late addition of TWC right before the supposed transition to 6th edition rules likely means that TWC are here to stay for at least another year or so.

All the nay-sayers who wanted the TWC to be removed completely as too much "wolf" or impractical anatomical issues.. looks like they're in for disappointment.

I was surprised by the base size on the Fenrisian Wolves. Seing them on a 25mm makes me think they might be really tiny compared to goblin wolves (which I have).

I geuss I'll have to get a box and see if I can convert my goblin wolves to be the same base size and make it not look rediculous.

So it occurs to me that the very late addition of TWC right before the supposed transition to 6th edition rules likely means that TWC are here to stay for at least another year or so.

And why would they suddenly disappear after a year or so?

Where did those "wulfen" models go to...

Where did the old man scouts go to.... o yeah, OOP, wulfen where 13th and this was a campaign army.
