Greeting Brothers,

After keeping my work to myself for so long I have decided to share some of it with you. Some of these models I painted 10 years ago and its kind of cool to see my painting skills improve over time. I date all my work under the base so when ever I post a new pic I'll also post when it was painted. If you like my work and want to see my newest stuff be sure to check out my albums and look for my Grey Knights. Please feel free to share any advice you may have for me.

My Emperor's Champion....painted 9/30/2011

My chaplain with jump pack.....painted 2002

My first Space Marines that I painted back on Feb 2001. I didn't quite understand how do drybrush and it was my first time doing a real base. I also used too much dull coat spray on the models.

These guys were painted on April 2001. They look better than the first ones that for sure.

These are some old school terminators that I painted back in October 2001.

I stopped painting for many years and I have just now got back into it. These I pained on August 2011. I got better at dry brushing and basing models.

They're nice, much better than me. The robe on the Chaplain is done well.

Possibly some shading for the Champion's robe?

Your right about the shading on the Champion's robe. I didn't really like the way it came out. I tried using a blue undercoat and I like the way it came out on others peoples models but I think I'm just going to redo it with browns like I normally do.

Brothers,

I present to you my Predator Tank. It is my first attempt at adding a dust or dirt effect to my models. It was hard wanting to risk a nice looking paint job to try to make it look dirty but I took the chance and now I'm glad I did.

Neat. I normally don't care for the extreme-highlight method of painting black, but I gotta admit it looks flashy on something as big as a tank. The dirt effects look good, too. I can never work up the nerve to try that on one of my own finished tanks, not with how tedious painting it was in the first place :).

Brother Firepower, I know just what you mean. After finishing the paintjob on the tank I told myself "I'm going to quit while I'm ahead". I was afraid of possibly ruining my tank buy screwing up the dirt effects. The key is to start off with a VERY LIGHT amount of paint on the drybrush and build up the effect on the tank or what ever it is your painting dirt on. It may take a long time to build it up to the shade you want but at least you don't risk messing up the original work. I even used the dirt effect on the legs of a squad of DeathWatch and it came out great.

Hmm..is that finished? It's not a bad quality paintjob, but there's just so much left to play with. The frag launchers for one seem like they were just ignored. And all that open blank space is just begging for some good old fashioned scribble-script to break up the wall of black.

Yes, you are 100% right. I made this model back in 2001 when I was first starting to paint. I'll now make it a point to go back and breath new life into it by adding the dirty effect to the tracks and lower edges like I did on the predator and adding some flash to the hull. I'm sure I have plenty of bits that I can add to the hull to make it look more Templarish. I also need to go back and add some lens flare to the lights.

Haha, Firepower.....you don't miss much do you. Now that you mention it, I did forget the frag launchers. I had misplaced them when I finished the model and when I found them I just primed them and glued them on with the intentions of coming back and adding detail.
