he_plays_guitar Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 I'm wondering about when the Death Guard actually made the pact with Nurgle and turned themselves over to the plague of flies and became plague marines. I'm assuming this was sometime before or mid heresy, but were they already bloated disgusting monsters during the heresy battles? There is a pre-heresy modeling and painting contest at my local gaming store and I was wondering if pre/mid heresy Death Guard were already corrupted by nurgle so I know whether to model the Death Guard as corrupted and bloated, or if I should leave them clean. If I understand you correctly, they were loyal until they made the warp jump to Terra, and were corrupted along the way...is that correct? Vodunius Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 No they were traitors from the outset: they joined Horus at Isstvan, but they were 'undivided' traitors like the Sons of Horus, Iron Warriors & Night Lords until they were trapped in the warp and plagueified en-route to Terra at the end.
