stephane4985
Hi, I'm pretty much a newb at painting and I am in the process of painting my GKs. I want to do my vindicare assassin next and the figurine will mostly be black. I was wondering if I need to paint black over the black primer, or is the primer enough? Sure I will do highlights and details, but do I have to repaint it over the primer? What is your opinion on that? And if someone can tell my what steps they took for painting it, that would be appreciated. Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248112-painting-vindicare-asssassin-with-black-primer/ Share on other sites
Seahawk
That's perfectly acceptable and is a quick and easy way to get your guys painted. After you do the initial spray, it's a good idea go check it over and fill any spots you missed with black. Olis
My advice is to hit the primer with black ink, if you can (or a black wash as a substitute), to make the black deeper as black primer can fade slightly when you leave it to set. stephane4985
Thanks for the advice, I think I already have some black wash laying around so I will probably try that. Res Ipsa Loquitur
FYI, if you're using the Army Painter black primer it doesn't quite match with Chaos Black. You have to give it a pretty heavy wash with Badab Black to match it, in my experience of painting an eleven-strong Death Company, Chaplain and DC Land Raider Redeemer.
